MISSION STATEMENT The mission of the Colorado AHEC Program
is to improve the quality of education for health care professionals in Colorado in
order to enhance the delivery of health care services throughout the state, with special
emphasis on frontier, rural, and urban communities and minority populations.
What type of housing does Colorado AHEC
provide? There are three types of housing: • Colorado AHEC Leased/Owned
Housing. Housing that is leased or owned by the Regional Colorado AHEC centers are available in the following locations:
Alamosa (SLVAHEC) Colorado Springs (Central AHEC) Durango (SWCAHEC) Fort Collins (CAHEC) Grand Junction (WCAHEC) Greeley (CAHEC) Pueblo (SECAHEC)
• Host Housing. The Regional AHEC’s Student Support Services Coordinators make the arrangements and pay the host. Students stay in individual homes in the community.
• Student Found Housing. Students
may choose to find their own housing in locations where leased or owned housing is not available. Student Found Housing may be set up as a Host Home where the Regional AHEC will pay the host or the student pays the host and may be reimbursed $10 per night. Students must follow reimbursement procedures. For more information contact Eva Lopez at 303.724.5735.
