Insert kink-free spring(J) into garden hose.

NOTE: The Kink-Free Spring (J) is designed to prevent a hosekink during STEP 32. Rapid Reel currently supplies thisone spring size which will fit into most 5/8" gardenhoses. However, it may not fit into certain brands, suchas Craftsman® hoses. Use of the spring is not requiredand TRITON reels are designed to operate properly with-out it. If the spring does not fit into your garden hose, simply use care during STEP 32 to avoid a hose kink. Ifyou are going to purchase a new garden hose for thereel, we recommend that you take the spring with youwhile shopping to ensure it will slide into the hose.

If the brake effectivelyslows the reel, and pre-vents self-unwinding,then no further adjust-ment is needed.

If the brake DOES NOTslow the reel, and self-unwinding occurs, thensome brake adjustmentis needed.

Tighten the brake 1/4turn using hex key (M).DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN!
