“Their artful blend of blues, funk and soul quickly reels the listener in. A record of able, sophisticated cool, Fo’Reel’s Heavy Water is refreshing and invigorating to the ear.”
BLUES MATTERS London, England September 2014
“Domizio is the star turn, providing an excellent counter to Love’s Delta Soul, as Neel fills in any cracks with swells of Hammond B3. With their fine pedigree, Fo'Reel has more soul than their contemporaries…. The vocals are passionate, the guitar playing is deep and full of emotion…. If strong driven, energy filled music is your thing you will love this CD, which not only embraces traditional blues, but hits you with interesting styles like Swing, Funk, R&B, even a little Latino Rumba.”
all-about-jazz C. Michael Bailey September 2014
“The music is stylistically the blues, though there is nothing gut-bucket or raw rural about it. This is city-sophisticated (the "city" being the Crescent one). It is carefully considered and produced, sonically lush and genre far-reaching.”
OFFBEAT Rob Fontenot NOLA August 2014
"On record, happily, this flexible quartet is as tight as any outfit you’ll see on stage, opting for a smooth West Coast-blues style that emphasizes jazz improv over barroom bravado. Fo’Reel might achieve super status yet."
Smoky Mountain Blues Society Blue Barry September 2014

Reflections in Blue Bill Wilson September 2014
“Superb musicianship from all parties involved and a power and passion that can only come from a deeply rooted love for the music…that, in a nutshell is Fo’Reel.”

“This is the debut recording from a band that deserves your attention. Fo’Reel is steeped in New Orleans soul and funk. They are just beginning so this is a formative recording. A lot has occurred since this album was initially released on May 27th. The touring band now consists of Love, Domizio, Neel and David Barard. Barard is the extraordinary bass player who for many years played and toured with Dr. John. I can’t wait to hear more from these guys. They are fabulous.”

“Furthermore it won't take long listening to the album before you're completely hooked. This band definitely brings the groove and the good-time vibe that you find in a lot of music from New Orleans. It really displays the range of the band from funk to jazz, blues, and early rock and roll. If you've been looking for some blues to get you moving, this is an album you should add to your collection.”
