Heavy Water, debut CD performed by New Orleans-

based Blues, R&B and Funk Band, Fo’Reel, includes an incredible performance by C.P. Love, legendary New Orleans soul singer; Johnny Neel, Grammy Award winning keyboardist, best known for his songwriting, stage, and session work for the Allman Brothers, Gov't Mule, and Dickey Betts; Mark Domizio, Band Leader, guitarist and project creator.

Heavy Water was recorded in two studios, Nashville and New Orleans. The CD was mixed and mastered by David Farrell, multiple Grammy Award winner, who has worked with countless local and international musicians. The big sound of Heavy Water is a direct reflection of Farrell’s extraordinary talent.

Heavy Water is a high-energy blend of Contemporary Blues that includes a lot of funky grooves that will make you want to move. Every song is strong and energy filled, the vocals are passionate, the guitar playing is deep and full of emotion, the keyboard and horns are a driving force to the overall distinctive style and sound. Anyone who enjoys strong-driven, energy-filled music will love this CD. It not only hits the listener with a variety of interesting styles like Swing and a Latin-Tinged Rumba, it embraces New Orleans Blues, R&B and Funk.

Heavy Water also features Jon Smith, multi Grammy Award winning tenor saxophonist; Rick Lawson, singer song writer; Daryl Burgess, drums; David Hyde, bassist and co-producer; Ward Smith, baritone sax; and Barney Floyd, trumpet.

The Band Fo’Reel was born out of a studio project that Mark Domizio created. His diverse approach to music translated into a variety of genres included on this CD. Although C.P. Love did not perform all the songs recorded on the CD he is the singer in the touring band. Additionally, the touring band features David Barard, bass guitarist, who joined the band after the project was completed. LIVING BLUES Melanie Young December 2014

“Their artful blend of blues, funk and soul quickly reels the listener in. A record of able, sophisticated cool, Fo’Reel’s Heavy Water is refreshing and invigorating to the ear.”

BLUES MATTERS London, England September 2014

“Domizio is the star turn, providing an excellent counter to Love’s Delta Soul, as Neel fills in any cracks with swells of Hammond B3. With their fine pedigree, Fo'Reel has more soul than their contemporaries…. The vocals are passionate, the guitar playing is deep and full of emotion…. If strong driven, energy filled music is your thing you will love this CD, which not only embraces traditional blues, but hits you with interesting styles like Swing, Funk, R&B, even a little Latino Rumba.”

all-about-jazz C. Michael Bailey September 2014

“The music is stylistically the blues, though there is nothing gut-bucket or raw rural about it. This is city-sophisticated (the "city" being the Crescent one). It is carefully considered and produced, sonically lush and genre far-reaching.”

OFFBEAT Rob Fontenot NOLA August 2014

"On record, happily, this flexible quartet is as tight as any outfit you’ll see on stage, opting for a smooth West Coast-blues style that emphasizes jazz improv over barroom bravado. Fo’Reel might achieve super status yet."

Smoky Mountain Blues Society Blue Barry September 2014

“’Heavy Water,’ is an amazing CD. Fabulous music, great songwriting, funky beyond words, and just great top to bottom!”

Reflections in Blue Bill Wilson September 2014

“Superb musicianship from all parties involved and a power and passion that can only come from a deeply rooted love for the music…that, in a nutshell is Fo’Reel.”

Making a Scene Richard Ludmere October 2014

“This is the debut recording from a band that deserves your attention. Fo’Reel is steeped in New Orleans soul and funk. They are just beginning so this is a formative recording. A lot has occurred since this album was initially released on May 27th. The touring band now consists of Love, Domizio, Neel and David Barard. Barard is the extraordinary bass player who for many years played and toured with Dr. John. I can’t wait to hear more from these guys. They are fabulous.”

AXS Contributor Gary Schwind October 2014

“Furthermore it won't take long listening to the album before you're completely hooked. This band definitely brings the groove and the good-time vibe that you find in a lot of music from New Orleans. It really displays the range of the band from funk to jazz, blues, and early rock and roll. If you've been looking for some blues to get you moving, this is an album you should add to your collection.”

Bman’s Blues Report October 2014

This is an awesome release and one that you should really check out... but be ready to groove!

The Rocker Stuart A Hamilton October 2014

“it’s the sound of musicians who’s mastered their craft, stepping out, having a good time, and taking you along for the ride.”

Midwest Record September 2014

FO'REEL/Heavy Water: Nawlins funk meets Bay area greasy jam blues… Rollicking stuff that keeps the party going all night long, this is not a journey back in time but it is a text book look at how it used to be. A wonderful, wild ride that careens through all your fave night haunts in fine style.
