acceptably, we need to
approach Him with reverence
and commitment… Heb. 12:28
•“To You, O Lord, I lift up my
soul.” v.1
Acknowledge Your Trust in Him!
• “O my God, I trust in You; Let me not be
ashamed; Let not my enemies triumph
over me” (v.2).
• Not only do we give our trust, but look to
God’s powerful protection and help!
Hebrews 13:5-6
• Our goal then is to draw near to God by
submitting to Him and obedience…
James 4:7-8; Ecclesiastes 12:13
Trust In God’s Justice!
• “Indeed, let no one who waits on You be
ashamed; Let those be ashamed who deal
treacherously without cause” (v.3).
• Our hope will be rewarded in due time.
1 Peter 5:6-7
• Take not vengeance for yourself.
Romans 12:17-21
– God will judge and repay for evil.
Hebrews 10:30-31; 2 Corinthians 5:10
Seek Spiritual Leadership! • “Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me
Your paths” (v.4).
• Jesus is the way, the truth and the life!
John 14:6; 1:17; 6:63, 68
• He is the One who leads us in the paths of
righteousness for His name’s sake…
Psalm 23:3; John 10:27; Rom. 1:16-17
• We should say in our hearts and lives to
God, YOUR ways, YOUR paths! Luke 22:42
Trust In God’s Salvation!
• “Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For
You are the God of my salvation; On You I
wait all the day” (v.5).
• God’s truth leads us to salvation in Jesus
Christ. John 6:44-45; 2 Timothy 2:10;
Ephesians 1:13
• We wait on the LORD all the day!
Proverbs 23:17; Lam. 3:24-26
Seek To Follow Jesus! • “Then He said to them all, "If anyone desires
to come after Me, let him deny himself, and
take up his cross daily, and follow Me” (Luke
9:23).
– We are reminded that in order to follow Christ we
must first have the proper desire to do so in the
first place.
• If you wish to be free from sin and hell follow
Jesus! Mark 9:43; John 8:31-32, 34
– You must hear and believe the gospel Rom.
10:17; 1:16; Confess Christ Rom. 10:10;
Repent and be baptized Acts 2:38; 22:16
Begin Part Two
•“Remember, O Lord, Your tender mercies and
Your lovingkindnesses, For they are from of
old” (v.6).
•Why we would want to serve God is because
we recognize His great mercies which He
constantly offers and His many
lovingkindnesses that He showers upon us!

His Goodness Is Eternal!
• “…For they are from of old” Psalm 25:6
• God’s great attributes are eternal just as
He is eternal! Gen. 21:33; Ps. 93:2;
Psalm 100:5; 103:17
– God’s very nature is eternal…
Isaiah 57:15; 1 Timothy 1:17
• This is true of His truth and testimonies
too! Psalm 119:142, 144; 139:24
Seek God’s Forgiveness!
• “Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor
my transgressions; According to Your mercy
remember me, For Your goodness' sake, O
Lord” (v.7).
• When we learn about our own sin we should
respond with seeking forgiveness.
1 Jn. 3:4; Jer. 3:25; Num. 32:23; Acts 2:37
• We all need what Jesus offers, “the
forgiveness of sins”! Acts 5:31; 26:18;
Ephesians 1:7
Seek the Lord’s Way!
• “Good and upright is the Lord; Therefore
He teaches sinners in the way” (v.8).
• If we concede to God’s good and upright
nature we will want to do His will! Jn. 7:17
• God is good… Psalm 73:1; Luke 6:35
• He is also upright! Psalm 25:8; 92:15
• God’s way is unstoppable… Prov. 21:30
• We must strive to learn and obey it!
Psalm 143:10; 119:33; John 6:68
Live In Humility!
• “The humble He guides in justice, And the
humble He teaches His way” (v.9).
• If we do live in humility we shall be
blessed with truth (His ways) and justice!
• We will also have God’s mercy, and
grace… Jas. 2:13; Mt. 5:7; Jas. 4:6; 3:17
• Justice, mercy, faith and humility all go in
hand with the proper walk with God…
Mt. 23:23; Micah 6:8
Keep God’s Commandments!
• “All the paths of the Lord are mercy and
truth, To such as keep His covenant and
His testimonies” (v.10).
• This is why we want to always live by
God’s ways and paths! Ps. 119:151
• Today we must do all the things Jesus has
commanded us. Acts 3:20-23; Mt. 28:20;
Heb. 5:9; Mt. 17:5
• We need to acknowledge the ways of God
with every step we take in life. Prov. 3:5-6
Your Ways, Your Paths
• We always need to make our ways and
paths the same as God’s ways and paths!
Psalm 25:1-10; Proverbs 3:5-6
• Will you rededicate yourself to this holy
emphasis?
• Please come to Jesus… James 4:7
– Believe in the gospel. Rom. 10:17; 1:16
– Repent of sin. Acts 3:19
– Confess Jesus. Acts 8:37
– Be Baptized. Acts 2:38
