Francesca Baglione (Miss High Leg Kick) is an established artist with extensive experience of creating medium to large-scale outdoor work (e.g. Fashion Bus and Audition Project) and innovative interactive pieces (Olivier Award winning show C’est Barbican/Duckie!). Miss High Leg Kick’s work is marked by humour, a love of spectacle, dance, and the celebration of the everyday.
MISS HIGH LEG KICK’S PROMETTES
Miss High Leg Kick’s Promettes are a roving team of performing artists who combine music, dance, comedy, live art, audience interaction and general showing-off in a collection of specially choreographed routines. Inspired by Brighton’s seaside Promettes of the 1950s, the Promettes include established live artists Miss High Leg Kick, Harold Offeh, Abi Cunliffe, Steve Nice and Yoko Nishimura, as well as two younger guest Promettes, Reggie Roberts (11 years old) and Luciana Hutt (7 years old). The Portland Promettes have included Rhys Hollis (from The Lipsinkers) and Richard DeDomenici. The multi-generational troupe promenade and promote audience engagement with the arts and events through spectacle and surprise. Fun, accessible, and completely adaptable to different spaces and all audiences.
