It was established in May, 2010 with an aim of having an officially recognized vehicle to spearhead economic independence for Women. Women in Agribusiness in the Sub-Saharan Africa Alliance are committed to unlocking and widening opportunities available to women in all areas of agribusiness. Women in Agribusiness in the Sub-Saharan Africa Alliance's goal is to guide and support women as they transition from their present roles into more leading roles within agricultural sector and other sectors of the economy. Women in Agribusiness in the Sub-Saharan Africa Alliance focal points are: To boost the entrepreneurial spirit, flair and achievement of women To strengthen rural communities by facilitating and contributing towards the agriculture and development needs of Women in Agribusiness and its associated industries To increase women's involvement in local, regional and global trade Women in Agribusiness in the Sub-Saharan Africa Alliance (WASAA) activities consist of the provision of training in business and basic technical skills as well as the provision of credit. Beneficiaries are selected by the secretariat in consultation with the District committees.

Women in Agribusiness in the Sub-Saharan Africa Alliance is a not for profit organization. It was

The National Association of Business Women (NABW) was established in 1990 and registered as an

NGO to foster the participation of women in business enterprises through promotional support to

existing and potential members in Malawi. The organization has its Head Office in Blantyre but operates

in all districts of Malawi. It is a membership-based organization and is registered as a Trust in Malawi

and governed by an 11-member Board of Trustees. Its mission is to promote businesses belonging to

women and to assist many more women to enter into business. The organization currently has a

membership of 15,000 throughout Malawi. Its goals and objectives are as follows:

- To promote, improve and encourage the development of businesses owned by women;

- To advise and inform members on matters affecting their interests;

- To improve the subsistence level of rural women entrepreneurs by forging linkages between urban and

rural economic sectors;

- To stimulate and maintain business women's involvement and participation in programs and other

national organizations to ensure that resources available for businesses in Malawi are properly

coordinated;

- To co-operate and liaise fully with the government so that the association is kept abreast with various

priority projects for women and the available opportunities for training and credit.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support National Association of Business Women & Women in Agribusiness in the Sub-Saharan Africa

Alliance to conduct organizational development and fundraising assessment. Build capacity of The

National Association of Business Women & Women in Agribusiness in the Southern Africa Alliance in

planning, leadership and management skills and fundraising. Assist The National Association of Business

Women & Women in Agribusiness in the Sub-Saharan Africa Alliance to develop and implement

effective fundraising systems. Promote equal participation and representation of women and men in all

activities of The National Association of Business Women & Women in Agribusiness in the Sub-Saharan

Africa Alliance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

University Degree in Business Administration, International Development or related field Experience in

organizational development and fundraising Cross cultural competencies Experience in Africa preferred.
