From The Desk of Patrick Lucas

Dear Members,

Happy April! We would like to welcome you to the 2016 golf season. The Woodcrest staff is eager to kick off the year with you all.

As always, our goal at Woodcrest Country Club is to create a welcoming atmosphere for each and every mem-ber by providing the ideal country club experience including dining, golf, tennis, swimming and an active social calendar coupled with professional and friendly service. We hope that you will feel right at home joining in the longstanding traditions and exciting new initiatives of our facility.

So far in 2016, we have already enjoyed several successful social events including Valentine’s Day, Easter Brunch and many Friday night Happy Hours. For those of you who have not been able to attend one of our events yet, we look forward to welcoming you at any of our upcoming events such as our Craft Beer Tasting, Passover or Mother’s Day. Social events are a great way to get to know other members of the club and our staff enjoys creating these memories for you. The pool season is just 60 days away and we are already planning events for the whole family including Movie nights at the pool, Family Bingo Night and Girls Night Out!

A very mild winter and minor improvements to the course have the season looking very promising. In addition to our active golf tournament schedule for 2016, PGA Golf Professional Bill Torlucci and Assistant Golf Professional Jay Curry are always available to help you perfect your game. We invite you to stop by Bar 1929 for lunch or dinner after your next round at the club. With new menu items and several additions to our culinary team, we look forward to a very successful year for Bar 1929. It’s just about time to enjoy a few drinks on the patio!

Once again, we thank you for choosing Woodcrest Country Club. We truly value our membership base and look forward to seeing all of you taking advantage of the club’s membership benefits this year. If you have any questions regarding the club, please feel free to reach out to me.

Socially Speaking...From the Desk of George Jordan

Director of Food & Beverage

A warm welcome back to our members! So far so good this winter! We did not have much snow; and the temperatures were very warm for winter. It was a great winter for golfing! The trees and grass are turning green and our golf course and dining rooms soon will be swarming with happy members. I am anticipating a terrific year full of great social activities and amazing golf, tennis and swimming. We hope you enjoy all the club has to offer by playing more golf, tennis and dining and attending all of the special events planned for 2016!

We spent the winter months assembling a great culinary team. We had a top chef contest amongst our candidates and feel we picked the best. Our culinary team led by our Executive Chef, Ygnacio Alena, are ready to wow you! See page 11 to learn more about our team. We have many great food themed events planned for the 2016 season. Please support your club by attending and bringing guests to these events.

Friday nights have been very busy in the upstairs club bar. We started a happy hour and dinner menu in the beginning of February and they have been well attended. Valentine’s Day was attended by well over 125 members and their guests. There was an interactive kid’s room with face painting and games. The candy table in addition to the amazing breakfast buffet were the big hits. March Madness on St. Patrick’s Day in Bar 1929 was packed with revelers sipping on Guinness and enjoying our Irish menu.

We finished March off with our Easter Sunday Brunch which was well attended by 200! It was a hit featuring, Gary the Balloon Man and a visit from the Easter Bunny. There was an egg hunt on the back lawn with about 50 children searching for the 800 hidden eggs filled with candy.

It is important that you register for all member events as soon as you know you would like to attend to ensure a spot. We do not like to turn members away but we only have so much capacity. Also, it is very important that you make reservations for dinner so we are prepared with staff and can manage the kitchen to best meet your needs. Please call 856-429-4300 x108 or email [email protected]

I look forward to seeing everyone around the club! If you have any ideas for theme parties or menu items please email to [email protected]

All the best,

George8. Woodcrest Word, April 2016
