Contest Rules – Please read carefullyPeople in your video – You must submit a signed document from any people (other than yourself) who are recognizable in your video confirming that you have their permission to include them in the video. Music, photos, and other video – You may NOT use third-party materials that are subject to trademark or copyright protections unless you obtain written permission from the third party and submit the written permission with your video. NOTE: If you use music in your video, please be aware that buying music from iTunes does NOT qualify as permission to use the music for this contest. Since obtaining permission to use commercial music is extremely difficult, we recommend using music from royalty-free sources, creating your own music, or not using music in your video. If your video includes copyrighted materials for which you do not have permission, your video will be disqualified. Permission to use your video – If your video wins, you agree to allow Bechtel to post your video on Bechtel’s Internet, intranet, and social media sites indefinitely. You also agree to allow Bechtel to videotape and photograph your project visit and post the video and photos on Bechtel’s Internet, intranet, and social media sites indefinitely. Any video that does not meet the contest rules will be disqualified. Project visit rules and restrictions – Winner and a guest will receive a one-day project visit at a project selected by Bechtel, travel to and from the project, meals, and accommodation for up to two nights. The winner and his or her guest must be at least 18 years old. Visa entry privileges must exist between winner’s and guest’s country(ies) of citizenship and project country. If traveling outside their home country, winner and guest must have valid passports, visas, and drivers licenses (if needed), and must agree to any visa or other travel requirements of the host location. Winner and guest must travel together round trip, originating from and returning to the same destination. All travel arrangements will be made by Bechtel’s travel group and will be at Bechtel’s discretion. Air travel will be coach class (second class for rail). Hotel/lodging and rental car (if needed) will be mid-level. Travel expenses, including meals and incidentals, will be reimbursed in accordance with Bechtel’s expense reimbursement policy. Winner must travel within six months of date winner is announced. Additional terms and conditions may apply depending upon destination.

Bechtel is celebrating Engineers Week with a video contest for engineering students in the United States and Canada. Engineers Week aims to spark interest in engineering and technology careers among students and raise public appreciation of engineers' contributions to society.

• Contest – In 2 minutes or fewer, tell your story about why you want to become an engineer.

• One Grand Prize – All-expenses-paid trip for winner and a guest to visit a selected Bechtel project in the United States or Canada.

• Entry deadline – Sunday, April 15, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. U.S. Pacific Time. Winner announced in May.

• Criteria – Entries will be judged on personal story, originality, creativity, and inspiration to others. One entry per person.

• Eligibility – To enter, you must be a full-time, active student at least 18 years old studying for a BA/BS, MA, or PhD in of the following engineering disciplines at a U.S. or Canadian college or university: civil/structural, mechanical, electrical, nuclear, chemical, industrial, or environmental.
