In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, the majority of Honours degrees are 3 years in duration with specialisation from the outset
In Scotland, the majority of degrees are 4 years (Honours)
This is because Scottish degrees have lots of flexibility and choice of subjects to study in lower years, with specialisation by third year
Often this gives students the opportunity to sample several subjects before choosing in which to specialise

Based at Pollock Halls, which accommodates just over 2,000 first yearstudents within 9 ‘Houses’
Mixture of twin, ensuite rooms, andsingle rooms (with either ensuite orshared facilities) available – dependingon the House selected

Pollock Halls’ facilities also include 2squash courts, shop, computing microlab, bar and cafes
Resident Assistants (RAs) organise social and sporting events for residents; help new students to mingle with others
