PROJECT BASE MIGRATION REINVENTIONIn this phase, some small projects are
executed to become familiar with the cloud

Six common strategies of applications migration (6R’s)
In the scenarios of large inherited migrations, in which the organization seeks to quickly implement its migration and escalate to be able to serve a business case, we consider that most applications are migrated to other hosting.
1. REHOSTING(“lift and shift”):
It involves making some optimizations for the cloud to achieve a tangible benefit without modifying the central architecture of the application.
2. REPLATFORMING(“lift, tinker and shift”):
It is decided to change to a different product, which probably means that your organization is willing to change the licensing model you have been using.
3. REPURCHASING (“drop and shop”):
Normally, the factor driving this is a strong business need to add features, improve scaling or performance optimization that would otherwise be difficult to achieve in the existing application environment.
4. REFACTORING / RE-ARCHITECTING:
Identify the existing IT resources that are not useful anymore and can be deactivated.
5. RETIRE:
Maybe you want to keep some of your IT portfolio because you’re not ready to migrate some applications.
