Committee MeetingThere will be a committee meeting next Wednesday the7th December.

You will already have received a circular about this.

If any Member has anything they would like to beconsidered by the committee please e-mail [email protected] as soon as possible so that I caninclude it on the agenda.

Web Site NewsWeb Site GalleriesThere is now a revised system in place for website galleries

John Murray has agreed to administer the galleries so all youneed to do is email the photos to him

He has created an email address specifically for the use ofGallery entry requests which is:

[email protected]

Please use this address for all gallery communications to makeJohn’s task as easy as we can.

If you haven’t been to the website recently have a look and youwill see some very good work in the members galleries - all listedunder a tab on the front page.

Your Chance To BeSeenWe also have another way for you to profile your work. We arealways on the lookout for photography and stories to put on thewebsite front page. At the moment the website tends to featuremy photography. That's not because I want it that way but simplybecause no-one else ever sends anything to me.

If you have any story you would like to tell or a few photographsyou would like to show to a greater audience please send themto me and you can have your moment on the front page.

Putting your images in a gallery is one thing but the front page ofthe website is now receiving over 200 hits per week and anywork profiled there will be seen by many more people.

Elsewhere I have written about the coverage for this bulletin, it isnow downloaded and read by about 200 people a week, so if youlet me have a cover photo it will be seen by a lot of people.

Cover photos need to be Landscape format.

Adrian Almond has made the following offer tomembers:-

I feel I have been very well treated by Blackburn Camera Club and so I wouldlike to make a limited time offer to your Club members for a One -to- OneWorkshop.

If a Winter Workshop day is booked with me before December 25th 2011, totake place on a day between now and the end of March 2012, then I willdiscount £50 from the cost of the day.

In other words the Workshop final cost will be £120. A half day will be £70 andthis could be combined with a few hours at my home for Post-Processing workat £25 per hour.

At this time of year, 2 types of combo-itinerary work well. Either a few hours amfor PP and then preparation for Kent Estuary/Arnside sunset shoot, or wintersunrises at Windermere/Grasmere, breakfast then back home for PP session..

I will also be prepared to offer a good price for a Club group outing. If there isany interest in this then just get back to me for a price per person.

E-Mail [email protected]

We hope that by producing What's On we introduce younot only to the activities provided by the club but also toother opportunities to get out and about to takephotographs or to see exhibitions or listen to interestingspeakers.

However we can only do this if we know what is goingon outside the club.

The website now includes two additional features thefirst is a calendar which incorporates not only thesyllabus but other events and the second is a guide tolocal events provided by an outside source, and ournew Weather Forecast Gizmo.

We need input from you to keepWhat's On and the calendar up-to-date.

If you learn of anything which might be of interest toother members whether it be somewhere to go orsomething to see please let us know.

For general events and photo opportunities pleaseemail the details to our events coordinator StewardElliott. [email protected]

For other stuff please e-mail it to [email protected]

Finally you will see that for the second weed running Ihave provided this week’s cover.

However I am sure that there is someone else out therewho would like to have their image on the cover and ifyou would send me an image you have every chanceof it being used next week.

The image should be about 1500 pixels wide. What'sOn is landscape format and therefore landscapeimages are preferred you will also note that type isplaced to the bottom right-hand corner so please takethat into account when choosing the photograph.
