Proposed Plans RevealedWe’re always on the look-out for the yellow laminates tied to lamposts around Westbourne. They often contain useful information about planning requests and sometimes hints at what is coming to Westbourne. There quite a few up to read at the moment. They include the council requesting permission for display banners in numerous locations around Westbourne, 82 Poole Road changing use to a coee shop and 3 Grand

Cinema Buildings (the short-lived Cliftons estate agents) changing use to a beauty salon. We will also be welcoming Circo Lounge to 66 Poole Road in the near future and if their success with Ludo Lounge in Southbourne is anything to go by, Westbourne will soon have a great new eatery & bar, more details in the August edition.

Calling Natural Nail Loverssay HELLO to Shellac

14 day wear, mirror nish, zero dry time & no nail damage. Just a few of the reasons that women everywhere are demanding Shellac! We asked Olya from Tigerlilly, our own Westbourne based nail expert, to tell us why everyone is going so mad about Shellac. “Shellac stands way ahead from any other product on the market with all the science and testing to support it. Like any quality nail polish application the Shellac system features a base coat, colour coat and top coat. This triple hypo-allergenic application together with UV lamp results in breakthrough awless and resilient colour that remains perfect for 2 weeks and removes in 10 minutes.”Recently, Olya was lucky enough to meet up with Holly Schippers, inventor of Shellac & CND Global Education Ambassador to discover more tips and tricks about this popular nail product. Olya continues, “As a nail industry professional for over 5 years I can say that there is no comparison - nothing even that comes close. For clients who have problems letting the nail polish dry properly it really is like a beauty gift. A perfect treatment for natural nail lovers! There are no negative side eects with respect to the frequency of removal with Shellac and it’s perfectly safe for everyone’s nails - as long as the system is being used and applied correctly by your nail technician.““Meeting Holly was an incredible opportunity – she does tutorials on Shellac and other CND services worldwide and demonstrated to me some great new tricks and also producing nail art with Shellac. Holly was kind enough to share a lot of important information regarding very precise work with the product and all the little tips that play an inevitable part in the longevity and quality of the product.““I have previously been educated by CND in Shellac, however, meeting Holly has really helped me to understand and master the system. It has

introduced me to a much more advanced level of application resulting in really happy customers returning 2, 3 and even

sometimes 4 weeks later with lots of positive comments - as a therapist, that’s what I like to hear. Plus Holly really loved my

nails and even put a picture of them on her Facebook page .”

Merhaba Saray!Hello to Saray Turkish Bakery

We’re pleased to welcome Ibrahim and family to Westbourne. Saray Turkish Bakery recently opened in the small sandwich unit on Poole Road near the Arcade. After a well planned ret, the tardis-like Saray seems bigger on the inside than outside. Inside you’ll nd authentic and homemade Turkish food, all at very reasonable prices.

Specials to try include Lahmacun, a Turkish pizza/wrap made with minced lamb (also available as vegetarian), feta salad, mixed meze from £1.20 and exquisite Turkish Delight and Baklava. We caught up with Oli from boxedveg.tv to nd out more about this unique local service. We asked Oli what it’s all about? ”We cook seasonal produce on the website every week, whatever we cook goes into the weekly box. It works out cheaper than Tesco (see our website for a comparison). Lastly it’s paid for in advance online and then collected at your local collection point which is Badger and Bumble!”Oli explained how the boxes are fresher and

cheaper than supermarkets, “the medium box should be enough veg for 4 to share for a week and you will save about £7 on the same produce at supermarkets. I buy direct from the farms and also import directly, then distribute the same day - so it’s not hanging around in massive distribution warehouses. We use asparagus from farms in Christchurch, watercress and spinach from Hampshire. Our boxes always contain fresh herbs, garlic and chilli's, things that make cooking exciting!”We asked Oli more about his background and the interactive videos on the website. “I used to work as a chef in chalets before selling fresh produce in London for the last ve years at NewSpitalelds market.

With the interactive videos I wanted to create an informal cooking show where what you see is what you can get delivered. The videos show me and Tom larking around at food markets and in the kitchen, where possible we will lm it being pulled out of the ground by the farmer! We cook with it, then our customers get he same stu to then cook with and enjoy!”

Welcome to the July Book Review. Firstly, a big thank you to those of you who came to celebrate our 4th Anniversary in the shop. We had a great day and ate far too many cheesy nibbles! Just as well that Sarah and I had successfully run the Bournemouth 5k Race For Life the week before. The picture shows us at the end – a bit windswept but all in one piece. No sponsorship is required, but any donations you would like to make will be passed on to this great cause.

Southcoast Propertyall about buy to let mortgages

After two months of opening the doors Southcoast Property owned by Father and Son Philip & Kieran Piper would like to take this opportunity to oer some free information and advice to anybody considering letting their existing property

or looking to invest in a buy to let property instead.“Where do I start” were Kieran’s exact words before he gave us this marvellous incite into the world of Buy to Let mortgages.“There is currently a bit of an urban myth that buy to let investors can only nd mortgages with a 70% or even in some cases a 60% loan to value (LTV) mortgage. This is in fact not the situation at all it is just a case of some agents being unaware of oers that are out there and even available to 1st time buy to let buyers. I believe that the agents who are aware are just not feeding this information to their clients enough, which in turn could act as a catalyst to a market that badly needs a push in the right direction. Good news for everyone! The oers in question come from the Association of Residential Letting Agents (A.R.L.A) an organisation our company is delighted to be a member of, who are pleased to announce the return of their 85% LTV buy to let mortgages on oer to anyone looking to purchase a property to let out. Combining this with the fact that average achieved rents throughout the UK are at a record high, 4.4% higher than a year ago, then now really is the time to become a Landlord or expand your existing property portfolio”.Further to this Philip added ”I have never seen so many excellent potential tenants desperately trying to nd their next home but with little joy due to the lack of properties available to them. To us with low housing prices, high achievable rents, low interest rates and a demand beyond belief now really is the time to invest”.For any further free no obligation advice please call 01202 768885 or email [email protected]

Polarity of the Human Bodyexplained by Ann Runyard

Many years ago I suered ill health after one of my house moves. It transpired that geopathic stress (environmental issues) was the major contributing factor. Over a period of time, it caused the polarity of my body to reverse and weakened my general health. As you can see I am here to tell the tale.As organisms, we share many similarities with the earth’s core which is caused by the magnetic tension between dierent elds or poles. According to this theory of Polarity, the body is divided into dierent and apposing poles – the negative and the positive. This is what keeps us standing upright on the planet. It is impossible not to be aware of the environmental issues threatening our planet today. These very same problems are contributing to our general health.Health is, in the main, dependent on the uninterrupted ow of energy, often called Chi, throughout the body. All the while we are well this energy ows freely. Pain, trauma, grief, emotions, depression, chronic ill health and environmental stress, all have the potential to unbalance our polarities and deplete our energy. If this is not addressed our immunes systems are compromised. In order to distinguish, the right side of the body from head to foot is positive and the left side negative with the middle spine neutral and most energetic. Thus, the body, as a single magnetic energy eld, ows from within and across from one pole to the other. This happens in both plant and animal life.

As a therapist of various modalities and more specically the Bowen technique, I believe that polarity health becomes a rite of passage for any client

to ensure an eective treatment that culminates in the balance of physical, mental and emotional well being.Depending on the individual Bowen therapy will address these issues. However, balancing the polarities before a treatment, in my opinion, gives the Bowen a kick start and enhances the overall eect.
