WELCOME TO NEBRASKA LUTHERAN HIGH SCHOOLWELCOME TO NEBRASKA LUTHERAN HIGH SCHOOLWe’d like to welcome you to the great state of Nebraska and our little corner of the state here in Waco. Nebraska is known for its rich tradition of farming. Right underneath our feet is some of the best soil in the world for corn and soybeans. International companies have moved some of their largest seed production plants to within a few miles of Waco, so you could literally say that we produce the seed that feeds the world.
But that’s not really what Nebraska is all about. Nebraska is about its people; down-to earth, kind, and generous. One can’t drive down the road without being waved at, and stopping to have a visit with your neighbors is still commonplace.
Nebraska Evangelical Lutheran High School (NELHS) fits nicely into this culture. Since the 1940’s the Wisconsin Synod Lutherans dreamed of having a Lutheran academy for their children. That dream became a reality when NELHS opened in 1979. Now in our 38th year, NELHS has become known for its caring Christian family, rigor-ous academics, outstanding extra-curriculars, and cutting edge technology. The quiet village of Waco, combined with the attributes of NELHS, have simply made this a great place for kids, a place where disciples of Jesus are made every day. We pray that you will enjoy this choral festival and your time at Nebraska Lutheran connecting with old friends and making new ones.

Refrain: I will speak of your statutes before kings and will not be put to shame.

May your unfailing love come to me, O Lord,And your salvation according to your promise;
Then will I answer the one who taunts me,For I trust in your Word.

Do not snatch your Word of Truth from my mouth,For I have put my hope in your laws.
I will always obey your law,Forever and ever.

I will walk about in freedom,for I have sought you precepts.
And I delight in your commandsBecause I love them.

I lift my hand to your commands, which I love,And I meditate on your decrees.

Duane Blakely

Let all the world in ev’ry corner sing:My God and King! Alleluia, alleluia!
Let ev’ry corner sing For the heav’ns are not too high,
His praise may thither fly.
The earth is not too low,His praises there may grow.
Alleluia.
Let ev’ry corner sing For the church with psalms must shout,
No door can keep them out.
But more than all,The heart must bear the longest part.
Alleluia.

Pour down, O Holy Spirit, this grace upon your fold,Raise up from midst the Church’s youth true servants of your Word;
Whose lifted eyes have seen salvation’s glorious light;Whose souls, restored, have known the greatness of your might;
Whose hearts, sincere, have felt the warmth of love unearned.Bestir these servants, Lord, their inmost spirit move
With joy to share with dying souls your quick’ning love.

Witness

Who’ll be a witness for my Lord?Oh I’ll be a witness for my Lord.
There was a man of the Pharisees,His name was Nicodemus and he didn’t believe.
The same came to Christ by night,Wanted to be taught out of human sight.‘Demus was a man who desired to know How a man can be born when he’s old.
Christ told Nicodemus as a friend,“Man, you must be born again.”
He said, “Marvel not, if you want to be wise,“Repent, believe and be baptized.”
Then you’ll be a witness for my Lord.Soul is a witness for my lord.
You read about Samson, from his birthHe was the strongest man that ever lived on earth.
Way back yonder in ancient timesHe killed ten thousand of the Phillistines.Then old Samson went a wand’rin’ about.Samson’s strength was never found out.
‘Til his wife sat upon his knee.She said, “Tell me where your strength lies, if you please!”
Well, old Samson’s wife, she talked so fairSamson said, “Cut off a my hair!
“Shave my head just as clean as your hand,“And my strength will ‘come like a natural man.”
Samson was a witness for my Lord.Soul is a witness for my Lord.
There’s another witness for my Lord!My soul is a witness for my Lord!

He is the maker of heav’n and earth.He will not let your foot be moved.
He who keeps you will not slumber nor sleep.The Lord is thy keeper,
The Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.The sun shall not harm you by day nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all evil.He will keep your soul.
The Lord will keep your going out and your coming inFrom this day forth forevermore.

A deliv’rer in distress,And a faithful guide to the courts of heav’n

Go Tell It On the Mountain
Kurt Knecht

Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and ev’rywhere.
Go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born.
While shepherds kept their watching, o’er silent flocks by night
Behold throughout the heavens there shown a holy light.
The shepherds feared and trembled, when lo! Above the earthRang out the angel chorus
that hailed the Savior’s birth.
Down in a lowly manger, the humble Christ was born,And God sent us salvation,
that blessed Christmas morn.

Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace according to your word;For my eyes have seen thy salvation;
Which thou has prepared before the face of all people.To be a light to lighten the Gentiles
And to be the glory of your people Israel.Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be world without end.Amen.

O Church Arise
Keith Getty & Stuart Townend, arranged by John Hudson
Copyright © 2007 SoundForth
All: O Church, arise, and put your armor on;Hear the call of Christ our Captain
For now the weak can say that they are strongIn the strength that God has given.
With shield of faith and belt of truth,We’ll stand against the devil’s lies;
An army bold, whose battle cry is love,Reaching out to those in darkness.
Our call to war: to love the captive soul,But to rage against the captor;
And with the sword that makes the wounded whole,We will fight with faith and valor.
When faced with trials on ev’ry side,We know the outcome is secure;
And Christ will have the prize for which he died,An inheritance of nations.
Come, see the cross where love and mercy meet,As the Son of God is stricken;
Then see his foes lie crushed beneath his feet,For the Conqueror has risen!
So Spirit come, put strength in ev’ry stride.Give grace for ev’ry hurdle,
That we may run with faith to win the prizeOf a servant good and faithful.
As saints of old still line the way,Retelling triumphs of his grace,
We hear their calls and hunger for the dayWhen with we stand in glory.
TO GOD ALONE BE THE GLORY! AMEN.
