There are also other individual, class and whole school rewards such as The Head teacher’s Tea Party, Head teacher’s Postcard and many more…

Rhyme Time

The next project will be ‘Rhyme Time’. We will explore rhyming words by learning traditional rhymes and counting songs. Children will make captions and labels for characters and learn how to hold a pencil correctly for writing

During this time children will be learning how to hold their pencil correctly and be introduced to our school handwriting style. Information will come out to you and we ask you to help your child practise this key skill.

Trips out…You may have the opportunity to come and help…

Your support is key…Reading books will be coming home soon!

We want to promote a love of reading for you and your child. please try to read with your child at home every night. some books do not have any words in them, or very few words. Talk about the pictures with your child and encourage them to tell the story using their own words.

Home Learning

The children will receive Home Learning. This will be based on the project we are doing. There will also be spellings to practise.

Handwriting

Children learn cursive handwriting. Please help your children to practise this at home. They key thing to remember is that ALL letters start at the bottom! There is further information on the school website but please ask for further advice if you want a demonstration!

We will be holding a Tapestry workshop after the half term. We will navigate you through Tapestry and how it works. We will also show you how you can tell us about all the wonderful things that your child is doing at home. More information to come nearer the time.

It is our policy that all children wear school uniform when attending school, or when participating in a school-organised event outside normal school hours.

• White Shirt – NO POLO SHIRTS• Charcoal grey trousers, shorts,

skirt• Grey socks or tights • Red V- neck school sweater or

cardigan with logo• School tie• Black shoes - NO TRAINERS• Girls can wear a red gingham

summer dress with white socks.

PE KitChildren need a white T shirt, red jumper, black shorts/trousers and black plim soles.

Essential… • Put your child’s name on everything!!

• A named water bottle.

• Bring a coat – we love to play outside everyday.

• A bag to put your reading book in. This needs to come to school every day.

• A spare set of clothes including pants and socks for accidents (it is perfectly normal for children to have accidents from time to time)

Please, please don’t let your child bring their toys to school. It causes a lot of upset if they get lost or broken and can interfere with their learning.

Important Information…PunctualityPlease make sure your child arrives at school by 8.50am at the latest otherwise they will miss valuable learning time.

The recommended time to keep children off school for sickness and diarrhoea is 24hrs after the last episode.

Please inform the office in advance if possible if your child has a dental or hospital appointment.
