From the Prayer Closet-
We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. Romans 8:26 Intercession builds on the concept of prayer, but moves beyond personal conversation with God about our own thoughts, desires, and needs. It opens the way for us to approach God with the needs of other people, even other nations. Through intercession, we get the tremen-dous honor of being a bridge between a place that has been transformed by the power of God and place that still needs to fully experience who He is. This is often referred to as “standing in the gap.” When there is a person or circumstance still defined by things that do not represent God’s heart, such as brokenness or injustice, an intercessor recognizes a gap between the present reality and the reality of God’s kingdom-a kingdom of wholeness and justice-and through prayer, looks for God’s plan to close that gap, allowing His kingdom to come and His will to be done in the situation. Generals of Intercession
Opportunities to Pray
Join us on Sunday evening, May 3, at 6:30PM in the sanctuary for prayer and praise as we “Worship Our King”! Our praise team, Doxology, will be leading the worship. Wednesday, May 6, at 6:00PM, National Day of Prayer Service. Pastor Andy will be speaking. The chapel will be open on Thursday, May 7, for those who would like to come and pray for our nation. A National Day of Prayer gathering will also be held downtown on Thursday, May 7 at noon! “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and come and forgive their sins and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 Join us on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 in the chapel to pray for the church and it’s ministries. Join Marie Strohl on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30PM at the Hall Center to pray for the County School Board Meeting. Join a prayer group or Start a prayer group!
Another Opportunity to Pray and make your requests known to others!
Come to the chapel to pray! Entry to the chapel is from the hallway just behind the choir loft. The chapel is always open form the outside with entry through the children’s playground. Log in your prayer request and date in the journal provided so others can pray for your need. When you come to pray and pray for a request, please sign or initial so the requester will know that others are lifting prayers on their behalf. Please note by your request when prayers are answered so that we can give praise to God for those answers! Your Prayer Committee Dave Johnson, Kathy McBride, Penny Hansen, Jane Webb and Janet Butler
Health Update… Here it is the end of April and I’m still here . . . Praise the Lord! I’m thankful that prayer works. I know many of
you have been, and continue to pray for my recovery from this cancer. Thank you and please don’t stop. I need all the prayer I can get. I have another PET scan scheduled for May 1st and I’m confident that it will show vast improvements from the February scan. While the tumors seem to be shrinking and the pain level is manageable, the Doctor has said there is no cure medically available for my lung cancer. But, I believe in the power of prayer. My complete healing and becoming cancer free is in the Lord’s hands. Through God’s Grace, the power to remove the cancers and heal me exists. Please continue praying for the Holy Spirit to come and heal me.
Relay for Life… Relay for Life was held on April 18th and because of rainy weather, the location was moved to the Fair Grounds. I believe it was highly successful and a good time was had by all. Thank you to Pete and to everyone that helped. Also, thank you to the Doxology Praise Band for providing the music during the Survivor Dinner. The American Cancer Society is a very worthwhile cause to support and we all need to help where we can.

Communication . . .
MEMBERSHIP I need your help. I’ve been conducting an audit of our church membership rolls and as a result, have come up with a list of people who haven’t been active in our church for some time, and I’ve been unable to reach them. Please take a few minutes and review the list of names. If you know for sure they are attending elsewhere, please let me know, also if you have current contact information please pass that along as well. This will help me to maintain current and accurate membership records. Any help would be appreciated.
