YOUR FUTURE IN FINANCIAL ADVICEMLC’s presentation will examine the future of financial advice and how the royal commission and FASEA will impact profit drivers for advisers and their practices. Geoff was appointed general manager of NAB Wealth Distribution in March 2012. In this role, he is responsible for all sales of NAB Wealth.

Prior to this role, Geoff was responsible for leading NAB Financial Planning for a period of four years. He also headed up the wealth management operations at Bank of New Zealand for two and a half years as general manager of insurance and investments. He was also CEO of Advance MLC, establishing and operating the start-up Life Insurance and Funds Management businesses in Thailand.

He has also spent many years dealing with superannuation that includes having

responsibility for MLC’s Superannuation and Income Stream Platform offers, as well as completing other assignments in Asia and Indonesia.

Geoff is a family man and loves spending time with them every chance he gets. His interests include a great passion for cycling and a fascination for playing golf.

Jonathan is head of retirement solutions, Australia. In this role, he is responsible for leading the development of retirement thinking and investing at State Street Global Advisors in Australia. As well as considering the investment challenges peculiar to retirement portfolios, he is actively involved in retirement policy, product design, market research and communication.

Jonathan joined State Street Global Advisors, Australia, Limited in August 2000 and was a member of the Global Portfolio Strategy team from 2000 to 2018 covering both equities and currency and serving as the head of portfolio strategists for the Asia-Pacific region.

Prior to joining SSGA, Jonathan worked as a senior asset consultant and as a superannuation actuary at NSP Buck Proprietary Limited.

Jonathan was awarded a bachelor of economics degree by Macquarie University and is a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia.
