I was so proud today to see the completion of a major project be celebrated by our school and the community. We were able to share this with special guests as well as family and friends. Our kids are so blessed with the opportunities and experiences that are available to them. Thanks to one and all who contributed to make this vision come to life. Safe Return: The holidays ended with some increases in COVID activity across the state but at this stage we have had none in our area which is a relief. We are all sensing the significance of this virus and we will do as advised through updates to maintain a high standard of health and safety for our students and staff. We ask also that visitors sign in and ensure the following restrictions are supported: Stay at home when unwell. Do not attend the school site if you are unwell. Practise good hygiene when on the school site. Wash your hands or use hand sanitiser on arrival to the school and implement hand hygiene practices at regular intervals throughout your visit to the school. Cover your cough or sneeze through coughing or sneezing into your elbow or tissue, and then disposing of tissues immediately. Always wash your hands after you have coughed, sneezed or blown your nose. Avoid shaking hands. Maintain physical distance. Thanks for your support, Mrs Kristy Glyde, Principal Attendance: If your child is unwell, do not send them to school. If they are unwell at school, you or your nominated emergency contact will need to collect them immediately. Please ensure your child’s contact details are up to date. If a student is absent without a medical reason for more than three days, this will be recorded as an unauthorised absence and will be followed up by the school. Thought of the Day Never underestimate the healing power of a quiet moment in the garden.

K/1 2/3/4 5/6

It is wonderful to see all the happy, enthusiastic K/1 students back at school. This term K/1 are learning all about water and then diving

into an investigation of the marine environment. In maths this week we are learning about capacity.

Students found out which containers hold the most and least

amounts of water.

2/3/4 doing Maths, Movement and Subtractions. Having great fun!!

5/6 are excited to learn about marine environments and have begun brainstorming what we already know about the oceans. We’ll make our way towards the coast and into the estuaries throughout the term. Great work everyone!

Art Garden Music

Students drew their own version of Vincent Van Gogh’s “Starry night” in soft pastels.

It is always fun to look in the garden after a break and see what has grown or changed. Our snow pea seeds have sprouted. Hopefully we can eat them by the end of the term!

Our lunchtime music groups are proving as popular as ever with Miss Vanessa’s Drum & Dance on Tuesday and our Ukulele group beginning on Friday. Please come along if you’re interested in learning either instrument!

Kids yoga is FUN! It is a creative, imaginative way to develop a healthy mind and body. Yoga develops social, emotional and physical well-being in kids. We play and learn in a safe, non-judgemental, engaging environment that promotes risk taking, challenges, positive interaction, connection, awareness, laughter happiness and resilience. Marcia is a secondary teacher and has been a practicing yogi for over 20 years. She studied Purna yoga at Byron Yoga Centre in 2016. In December of 2016, she trained with Angela Tonkin and Rainbow Kids Yoga to become a children’s yoga teacher. She has taught yoga for ages 3-18+. She is humbled to be able to provide a safe and fun space for her younger students to explore their physical, emotional and spiritual selves.
