Dear Parents,

During the school year, our Classroom Home Lending Library will be open and available to your child. Each child may borrow one book a day to take home. The book is to be returned in the Zip-Loc bag the following day. Parents, you are asked to share, read or look at the books with your child. All the big books are Children’s Literacy Initiative (CLI) Approved for Kindergarten. These books are to be read to your child.

The check out system is easy and your child will become accustomed to it early on. They will pick a book out, check it out by placing the check out card with title, author, and price of the book in their lending library check out slot and take the book in the Zip-Loc bag. The card tells me what book your child has at home. If your child looses the book you will have to pay for the book so I can replace it.

Please share with your child good book handling skills. I will be demonstrating this with your child before we start checking out books to be brought home. You, as the parent, are responsible for the care and return of the book. Please sign your name and your child’s name below and return this form to me. This will allow your child to use the Classroom’s Home Lending Library.

I hope you enjoy reading with your child.

Thank You!Lauren Marturano
