Greetings from the Library

The library has been a very busy place the past two months. Third, fourth, and fifth graders have been connecting with classes all around the globe by participating in The Global Read Aloud. We use technology like Skype, Flipgrid, and Seesaw to discuss the book(s) with the other classes. We also had the amazing opportunity to set up Skype sessions with “Spooky Authors.” Fifth grade had their session on the 29th. Fourth and third grade get their session the first week of November.

Kindergarten, First, and Second Grades have worked on finding books using ABC Order and the Dewey Decimal System. Fun book scavenger hunts have taught them how our library is organized.

Enchanted Forest Book FairReading for pleasure unlocks the power of information and imagination and helps children discover who they are. Here’s what you can do to help children develop stronger reading skills and a love for reading:

Set the example. Let children see you read. Have a collection of books in your home. Update this collection routinely to keep up

with changing tastes and reading skills. Support our school’s Book Fair. Allow your children to choose their own books

to read.
