Netball Coach, Sports Development Service Stirling Campus
Salary: Hourly rate based on experience
Reports to: Performance Sports Coordinator, Sports Development Service
The RoleThe University of Stirling wishes to appoint a Netball Coach to deliver services to the University of Stirling’s Women’s Netball Team that compete in Scottish and British Universities' competitions. You will be required to provide coaching services on a weekly basis and attend competitive matches across the two academic semesters throughout the year. Coaches will be required to implement an effective programme that produce winning performances in student and mainstream sport competitions. Opportunities exist to liaise with appropriate sports science and strength and conditioning staff to help design and monitor the netball performance programmes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Managing Implement an appropriate Netball performance programme in keeping with the aims
and objectives of the Sports Union and Sports Development Service.
Coordinate with key members of staff regarding other support such as S&C.
Manage effectively a select squad of performance netball players. This includes establishing performance targets, devising appropriate competition schedules and developing an integrated timetable for netball, academic and lifestyle commitments for each player.
Coaching Design and deliver an effective coaching programme that helps improve the
performances of student players and which attains performance objectives as indicated by the Sports Union.
Attend appropriate competitions with teams.
It is not essential to be at all training sessions – availability would be agreed on appointment. The current training Times are the following:
Monday 07:00-08:30 Monday 18:30-20:00Tuesday 12:00-13:00Wednesday 07:30-08:30Thursday 16:00-18:00
Communicating
Communicate effectively with students, the Sports Development Services and the Sports Union.
Administering Adhere to good working practices
Attend quarterly updates with Performance Sport Co-ordinator

Essential Desirable
Qualifications/ Education
UKCC Level 1 Netball coaching qualification
UKCC Level 2 Netball coaching qualification (or working towards)
Skills/Training / Knowledge
Understanding of modern coaching techniques that incorporate progressive sports science and sports medicine aspects
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Well-developed organisational ability
Sound administration skills Flexible approach to work
Able to demonstrate imagination and creative flair
Experience Competitive Netball experience at a high performance level
Competitive coaching experience
Other Dedication, determination and a dynamic outlook
Understanding the importance
Membership of a relevant professional body
of addressing and responding to the needs of different audiences
Ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a team
A positive outlook Passion for sport
