Hello Year 4! I hope you are all well and you are keeping safe! What a strange year it has been but at least we spent half of it together and you all did brilliantly before lockdown. I really liked when Zoolab visited and I also loved our rivers trip to The Gilbert White Rivers Centre. I am sure you will all be great in Year 5 and I hope you all have a great summer! Take care! Miss Scott

Hello Year 4! I wanted to end the term by wishing you all the best in Year 5. This year has certainly been differ-ent to any other school year and the memories that you will have to look back on will seem very differ-ent. Even though we did not manage to spend the whole school year together, we still made many good memories together. I remember the very first day that you all walked into class 15, how small and shy you all were back then but look at you all now, ready for Year 5. Do you remember when Zoolab came to visit? So many of you, including Mrs Hallett, con-quered our fears that day and held some large, slimy rainforest creatures. Then the river trip was a lovely, team-building day. Despite the moans as we climbed the steep hill and all the steps we counted on our way, we made it to the top and we stood starring at the scenic view that went on for miles. This was a memorable trip, despite all the mud! I hope you all have a wonderful summer break! Stay safe and alert! Mrs Hallett

Hello Year 4! I really enjoyed working with the groups I took and seeing how much progress you made! Make sure you rest so you are ready to work hard in Year 5! Have a great summer and take care! From Mrs Merritt

Hello Everyone! I hope you are all doing well. You have made it through another year at school and I expect you are all very excited about returning to school in September to see everyone and to join Year 5! It has been lovely working with you all this year and I cannot wait to see you all in September and hear what things you have been up to the last few months. Stay safe in the holidays. Mrs Huntley

Hello Year 4! I just wanted to wish you all the best in Year 5. Even though our year was cut short we had some fabulous times this year. I especially enjoyed getting to see 4L outside of the classroom when we went to Ufton Court – I hope some of you are better at making your own beds now! Although it was very funny to watch, you try. I also enjoyed going on our Geography Field Trip to the river. Racing ducks and catching mini beasts was a lot of fun! I am glad nobody fell in, including myself. It has been great to receive emails from those of you at home who are working hard and just as great to see some of you in school. Good luck in Year 5 and have an amazing (and safe) summer! Miss Lomas

To Year 4! So it's the time of year where we have to say goodbye to you as you leave Year 4 BUT say to hello Year 5. I have enjoyed working with all of you! We have had many good times along the way. Also some challenging times! I will miss you all! You will have lots of new adventures next year in Year 5. One of my most treasured memories was the river trip. I was glad I did not fall in the water or slip down the mud. Do you all remember climbing that enormous hill to the top and then sliding back down the mud? It was fun! I found some lovely photos from our trip have a look below. All the best in year 5! Remember, I will still see you all outside on the playground. Mrs Brown

Hi Year 4! Goodbye and good luck in Year 5! Have a good summer! From, Mrs Barnard

Helpful Hints for September

Worried about coming back to school in September! Not sure what school will be like? Well fret no more! Golden Home Group have written some helpful hints for their classmates at home.

What is the same?

You will be in a normal sized class. You will have your own classroom. You will have a teacher and TAs. You will still have playtimes and lunchtime.

What is different?

You have set times to go to the toilet. An adult must take you and you wait to wash your hands back in the classroom. Some classes go around the outside to the toilets, not through the corridors. The adults clean the toilets every time you use them.

At the moment, we have playtime in the playground but we have to stay inside the large circle painted on the floor. Nobody else is allowed in your circle, just people from your class. We have a picnic bench inside our circle too. We have equipment to use at playtime that we cannot share with any other groups. We have hula-hoops, balls, beanbags, chalk, a basket hoop, cones, a football and skipping ropes. Sometimes we go on the field if there is not too many people on it already.

We run the Daily Mile every day and really enjoy it. Some people can even do it in under 9 minutes! Hopefully, we will still do this in September. We write down our time every day and we can see we have improved.

We have lunch outside as much as possible. If it is raining then we eat inside the class-room, but we clean our tables first!

We have our own spaces and stationary packs with everything we need in it. We each have a pencil, glue stick, scissors, felt tip pens, pencil crayons, a rubber, a ruler and a sharpener.

At the moment, children are not allowed in the corridors without an adult and there is tape on the floor so you walk down the correct side – always on the left.

We wash our hands in the classroom sink and make sure we do it for at least 20 seconds! We wash our hands a lot, especially if we have been outside.

Even though it has been a bit strange, we have enjoyed being in school. It is easy to follow the rules once you have got used to them. We cannot wait to see everyone next year!

The children currently working in school would like to share their TOP TIPS for returning in

to school in September.

* Don’t worry about coming in September – it will be fine! * We will come in and leave at different gates at different times but an adult is always there

to meet you! * Parents aren’t allowed past the gate. * We all have our own stationary packs and trays! * We can’t get too close to people. * We are outside as much as possible. * Wash your hands every time you come inside and before you eat. * Don’t touch your face! *We have Zoom assemblies so we don’t all have to go in to the Hall. * Only certain adults and children are allowed in the classroom. * We have our own special space outside. * The classroom is cleaned a lot. * Lots will be the same but some things change to make us safe. * School is still fun and you don’t need to panic!
