Water source system by McQuay is the intelligent choice for lower costs while creating a comfortable work environment in today's office buildings.
The system utilises space-saving concepts that are interconnected by way of water loop rather than ductwork. No chiller, or air handler room is required. And unlike most other systems, McQuay water source heat pump systems actually recover energy that would otherwise be wasted and put it to work in other areas throughout the building.
The result of this design is more than just quiet, comfortable performance for tenants but it translates into greater cost efficiencies for building owners and property managers on four vital levels:

Lower Maintenance CostMcQuay water source product series has been designed with easier accessability, especially to the compressor, blower and control section. Removable top & side panel has greatly reduce the time required in any maintenance work.
MWH (Packaged) MWSS & M5WSS (Split)
Zoned Comfort & ControlMcQuay WSHP sytem provides space heating and space cooling for a large number of individual building zones such as individual dwelling units in a multi- units bulding. Individual MWSP are installed in each space or zone and are connected to a single circulating water loop.
Each of McQuay water source product is equipped by an individual room sensor and a temperature controller, which is used to monitor the different set temperature in a building. Unit will stop operation in case it has achieved the set temperature and it doesn’t affect the operation of other units even in the same system.
In addition to the control, McQuay split type WSP (MWSS & M5WSS series) can be monitored and controlled centrally by using Smart Manager (centrel controller) or NIM PC (A/C Management System).
Variety Of Product Combination Of The Split Type MWSS & M5WSSThe compact, lower profile cabinet as well as variety of indoor, outdoor combination make it easier to fix specific architechure and potential design construction of the building, or replacement application space requirement.

Easier, Lower Initial Installation And Expansion CostLeft or right return piping and various ducting discharge configuration (horizontal unit) has contributed in towards optimizing job layouts with minimum ductwork and piping.

One advantage of water source system is either the split type or package type WSHP is normally concealed above the ceilling.
Each unit is connected to two hydronic pipes which receive and discharge water at two different temperature. The piping is integrated with the heat rejection equipment (cooling tower or dry cooler), and heat addition equipment (Boiler). Water is then circulating in the a closed water loop once a pump is switched on.

McQuay WSHP Working Principle
Independent AccountabilityAs WSHP is installed independently in separate zone. Hence, each zone is accounted individually by its power consumption. This benefit is mostly exploited in application such as hotels, rented locations, and shopping complex as the owner of the building does not need to pay electricity bill for whole building.

Simultanueous Cooling & HeatingDifferent from the conventional air conditioning system, McQuay WSHP is able to perform both cooling and heating to a building simultanueously.
The primary advantage during this mode is to save the energy by reducing the operating time of the cooling tower and boiler, where heat dissipated by cooling mode unit will be transferred to the usage of heating operating mode unit. This is greatly reduce the operating cost of a water source system.

Getting the right level of comfort can be much less expensive than widely imagined, or at least less costly than makeshift or non-intergrated solutions.
Therefore, instead of independent product lineup, McQuay is prioritizing the complete McQuay Water Source Solution, which inclusive of series of products, AquaPro Selection software and last but not least, the Loop Water Controller in order to achieve the desired comfort level at minimal cost.
For this moment, McQuay is having a water source product series including split type and package type. In addition split type unit, various aesthetically attractive indoor units is also ready to suit to most of the interior design.

No Outdoor UnitThe packaged design concept eliminates the need for a separate outdoor unit. Also, the tube in tube heat exchangers in the MWH range do not need a fan to transfer heat load, resulting in a much quiet environment for building occupants.

Sequencing ControlFor MWH025B/BR to MWH070B/BR, the compressors are able to operate in sequencing mode. This will allow both compressors to cut in and out according to their accumulative operating times, which improves the compressor life span and reliability in results.
Partial Loading CapabilityFor MWH025B/BR to MWH070B/BR, which are having two compressors in their system, the capacity loading of compressors are able to controlled at 50% or 100%.

Flexible Installation.McQuay vertical water cooled package is designed for ease and flexiblility during installation, where its physical size of the unit is specially designed to achieve better space saving.
Easier In Service and Maintenance The structural design with more than one service panel contributes to easier work if there is any troubleshooting at site.
IC Remote ControlMWV unit is controlled by an IC Remote Controller. Individual thermal comfort is controlled precisely by the built in algorithm via this controller.

Other than products, and selection software, the newly developed water source system controller, Loop Water Controller has been introduced particularly to provide a system control feature for all water source heat pump equipments and an external control for the heat addition, heat rejection, as well as pump operation of any closed loop water source system.
Loop Water Controller is a stand alone device, mainly used to supervise the pump operation, as well as justifying number of either boiler or cooling tower to be switched on in order to achieve the load requirement of a multi stories building.
