Dr. Richardson' attended the deceased.Before his death, he conversed withHawkins relative to the affair, when hestated, with a consciousness of his ap-proaching dissolution, that LieutenantFerneyhough was an intimate friend ofhis, and the wound from which he wasabout to die was purely accidental. Thedeceased informed witness that Ferney-hough was about drawing a pistol on a.iindividual with whom he had had a dif-ficulty, when he attempted to preventhim doing so.
