Gathering together as a people of God is more than just going to church on Sunday God has called us together to rest in His presence and worship His majesty Jesus told us that ldquoThe Sabbath was made for man not man for the Sabbathrdquo Mark 227 God rested on the seventh day of creation and so we take time each week to rest in His presence and worship His majesty If you are interested in worshipping our loving God and hearing more about Jesus or being a part of a Life Group at St Johnrsquos find out more here

ITBS CogAT Standardized Testing

All Students in grades 1-8 will be taking the ITBSCogAT standardized tests over the next 2 weeks Most testing is done in the morning so we ask that you limit planned absences or tardies such as doctordentist and other appointments during this time period Rest and a good breakfast each day will help your child preform to the best of his or her ability

Great California Shake-out Program

We have our first Denim for Dollars of the school year this Thursday 1013 Students pay $1 and they may wear denim with their uniform or theme shirt All monies collected will be donated to Girl Scout Troop 1794 who are working towards their Silver Award and will be purchasing tarps and sweatshirts in support of the Project 23 homeless ministry Please follow appropriate denim guidelines and thank you for your support

Parking Reminder

Thank you for patience during the first few weeks of school and helping to make drop-off and pick-up on Shaffer Street smooth Please remember that city ordinance PROHIBITS parking on either side of Shaffer Street from 730-830 am and 230-330 pm every school day Parking and leaving a vehicle during these times may result in a parking citation from the City of Orange

Do not drop-off in red zones especially in the drive-way or in front of the middle school building Use the Shepherds

Pull all the way forward to make room for cars to move through the line Consider dropping off on the north-bound side of Shaffer especially for students in grades 2-5 Traffic is much

lighter there Remember that the drop-off period is from 755-815 Drop-off after 805 is very congested Dropping off before

805 can alleviate some of the congestion and some of the morning stress Be patient

No Pokemon at School Age Care

Due to recent events in which Pokemon cards were not played with properly during School Age Care we have suspended all play with Pokemon cards indefinitely This is effective immediately and we ask all parents to help us enforce this decision by asking your child to keep your valuable property at home Thank you for your support
