After running our Agape Table for so long, the Pitt’s have decided to step down and we are looking for someone to take this over. There is some traveling required several times a year to the different 4th Day Dinners and events. You will need to have space to haul 6-8 tubs with all the items. If you are interested or have any questions please contact Dusty LaNoue at 480-831-2811.

NEW DATABASE - PRAYER VIGILS!
The October walks are quickly approaching and we need to get the prayer vigils filled up! The Prayer Vigil is now in our new database at http://azemmaus.org/databaseinfo. Once logged in, go to Community -> Prayer Vigils. Verify your name and city are correct. (Adding an email here will ONLY allow it to be used for emailing you a reminder.) Once your info is correct, click ‘Select Walk’. You will see a list of all upcoming walks, choose the walk you would like to sign up for by clicking the magnifying glass next to that walk. Along the top you should see a drop down box to choose the day, once a day is selected you can see all open slots. Just click the green plus sign next to a slot and you’re all set! If you need to change your time, just click the red X by your slot, and choose another. If you are having trouble logging in or signing up this way, you can always email [email protected] for assistance.

Message from Community Lay Director, Dusty LaNoue
Happy October, Fall and the October Walks! First of all, let me congratulate the community in the Phoenix and surrounding area for stepping up and sponsoring Pilgrims. The October Men's Walk has 23 registered Pilgrims, and the Women's Walk has 39 registered Pilgrims!! All the Pilgrims on the walk that are married their spouses are also attending! Terrific, spectacular, WOW, good job, and any other joyful noises you can think of. We thank you, but your Pilgrims will be your greatest reward. You are giving them the opportunity to spend 3 days with their Lord and Savior, the best gift ever! I know you are all aware of the pre-Emmaus weekend prep you are responsible for, but are you aware of your post-Emmaus weekend responsibilities? The first thing is to get them grouping, this is very, very, important. I know many of you are aware of the next responsibility, however for those of you who are not, as a sponsor you are supposed to make sure that your pilgrim attends the Fourth Day dinner and gathering. Now you may not need to pick them up, as they may want to go early and attend the training session. However, you need to be there for the potluck and support them for the evening. Also, for the next few gatherings, if you can't attend call them to remind them that there is a gathering and give them the time and place. Preferably, it is best to attend with them the first few times, meet for a hamburger or restaurant of everyone's choice, break bread with them and then go to the gathering together. You don't need to pick them up (unless that is what you all want to do), you can just meet at the gathering. If you as a sponsor don't go to the gatherings, why would they? If you have been around awhile, you know how joyful it is to meet up with friends from your Emmaus experience. I am sure you don't want them to miss out on that blessing. In our busy lives, we have to encourage one another to commit to attending an optional evening of praise and worship. I, myself, am no less guilty of needing to be encouraged than you. After a long week, I want nothing more than to camp out on the sofa on Friday or Saturday night. I understand, however, Gatherings are a really wonderful extension to the weekend experience that recharges. Listening to the testimonies of the speakers is so uplifting and exciting. The church we attend doesn't have communion every week so it gives us another opportunity to receive; priceless. Do I have another reason? Yes. The attendance of gatherings the last few years has been poor. It reflects a lagging that has been happening in every aspect of the movement. We have all seen improvement in the sponsorship and number of pilgrims this October, but we can't let the surge of energy that is beginning to run out of gas! The pilgrims are excited after their walks. Allow that enthusiasm to be contagious, and start helping them to consider sponsoring. Part of the energy's supply happens around the gatherings, when we are all together again and share in our experiences that relate to this blessed movement. I know you all love Emmaus as much as Bill and I do, so let's keep on keeping on, until we have 6 walks again each year in Arizona, and then we can keep on keeping on until we have 8 Walks each year.......We can change the world one walk at a time, really WE CAN!!
