1. Introduction
Vocational Education
Vocational education (also known as vocational education and training or VET) is an education
that prepares people for specific trades, crafts and careers at various levels from a trade,
a craft, technician, or a professional position in engineering, accountancy, nursing, medicine, and
other healing arts, architecture, pharmacy, law etc. Craft vocations are usually based on manual
or practical activities, traditionally non-academic, related to a specific trade, occupation,
or vocation. It is sometimes referred to as technical education as the trainee directly develops
expertise in a particular group of techniques (Vocational Education, Wikipedia).
Vocational Education and Training Institute
In Lahore the numbers of vocational and training institutions are highest. Out of total population
of 7,171,000 only 8,901 are enrolled in training institution which is 0.124% of the population.
Total vocational and training institute are 21 and 5 respectively (Appendix A). The names,
courses being offered and total enrollment are attached in appendix A. So, these figures shows
that still more students can be enrolled in new institutions as enrollment percentage in Lahore is
only 0.124%.
By building more vocational training institutes one can help in institutionalizing large amount of
uneducated labor. Feasibility report has been prepared for vocational education and training

Name of the Business:
The name of the institute is Vocational Education and Training Institute (VE&TI).
Commencement of Construction:
The construction process would start from 1st of March 2013. It would be completed in 6 month
period that the project would be completed in month of September 2013.
Market Profile:
Considering the Pakistan is a developing nation so it is not unusual that there are not many
private vocational training institutes as compared to the world. But, there are many established
by government as we can see from the graph they are 316, there quality is not of the international
standards which is required with changing technologies and latest research. Considering that its
developing, and every field and its requirements are also developing so at the moment it would
be really good time to open a private vocational training institute.

T
The graph below shows the number of students getting enrolled at each level. Our target of
opening a vocational institute is dependent upon the target market which is students getting
enrolled in higher education. Our focus is to attract as much students as possible not only the
students who get enrolled but presenting the opportunity to students who left education due to
lack of resources. Also those people can be attracted who are currently part of professions by
explaining them that how earning a degree or a diploma can boost their career.
With reference to Iftikhar Hussain Shah, One thing to note here which is not presented in graph
is that only 10 to 15% of the vocational institutes are for men and remaining 85 to 90% is for
women. So it is high time to understand the importance of male vocational training and more
centers for them should be built. A private vocational centre who have training facilities for
males should be a good prospect.
XpertSolver.com
Trained Vocational Teachers (according to Dr. Aqila Khatoon (Ali) of University Of Karachi)
Are Teachers trained enough?
Description N %
Yes all of them 0 0
Few of them 165 82.5
None of them 35 17.5
The 82% of the respondents stated that the teachers at training centre are not fully trained in the
skills they are teaching. They are also not well informed about the equipment used in industry or
offices. The teachers are low paid therefore skilled persons do not join the training schools. The
special teachers without industrial background are usually employed in Vocational schools.
Considering this survey it is analyzed that there is room for a private vocational training centre
which can provide students with well educated and well trained teachers and if this can be
achieved and conveyed then students would prefer our vocational training centre. In this way
student getting training from our school can demand higher salaries due to their professionalism
and skills.
XpertSolver.com
Our strengths in marketing campaign would make the trained teachers along with meeting
international standards in the courses and diplomas and also offering vocational training for
males.
Customers:
The students that are admitted in vocational institutions have mainly completed their middle and
Matric certificate. Both male and female students would be admitted in our institute. In the
research paper written by Iftikhar Hussain Shah it is mentioned that survey conducted by
TEVTA states that out of 3952000 students of primary school in 1990 only 6.05 students who
passed Matric in 2000. This means that 3700000 student are potential customer for vocational
training institute.
Location:
The land purchased for vocational and training institute is located at Bedian road, Lahore.
