The Banbury Positivity Summit 2015#VisitBanbury
The Catalyst - Queens Road - Big Lunches & Much More!
2015 Launch - What is Visit Banbury ?
A volunteer led, community project with the goal of:
Primarily promoting the Town of Banbury,
Oxfordshire, as a desirable location to live, visit,
work, set up businesses, shop, relax & enjoy life!
• Thus generating a positive image for the town amongst its residents,
those outside of the town & further afield.
• By providing opportunities for many different stakeholders to work
cohesively together, to share in the wider project and to contribute
to its success.
• With a desired outcome to make Banbury a happier, more successful
& potentially a more socially & economically strong town, which will
be a desirable destination for residents, visitors & tourists alike.Inspired by

The Visit Banbury Project
“Create a Banbury Dish” Competition 2015
• The best recipes will be selected by a panel of judges from Visit Banbury and selected local figures and their creators will
be invited to cook their dish at a very special “Semi-Final” tasting event at The Cherwell Restaurant on 25th June 2015.
• The 3 best dishes will go through to the final & will need to be cooked fresh in a “cook-off” at Banbury Cookery School
at Little Amsterdam on the morning of Banbury Food Fair on Sunday 9th August 2015. The winner will repeat it at the
Food Fair.
• Members of the public will be invited to taste the three dishes, then vote for the Banbury Dish of the year. The recipe of
the winning dish will be presented to local restaurateurs, to put on their menus in celebration of the new Banbury Dish.
• Can be any type of hot or cold savoury dish
• Easy to prepare or cook (not time-consuming)
• Use fresh ingredients, locally sourced if possible to give a
Banbury identity
• Be cost-effective
• Provide a vegetarian alternative if it is meat or fish-
based
• Easily adapted by local restaurateurs to reflect Banbury’s
culinary diversity
Help us put Banbury on the UK
food map, promoting us as a
foodie tourist destination, linked
to Banbury Food Fair in August
& help start a new local tradition
which will be run annually in
future.
