Presidents Report 2005

As I have agai excepted nOITnation to go into my eighth year as President, I would lie to than all of our members fortheir paricipation and for some of the input and suggestions you have given me at the meetings over the last twelvemonths. We have had a few ups and downs but have got on with business as usual. Firstly, I would like to than ourOffce bearers, Vice President Graham Jacobs, Secretar Brian Brown, and Treasurer Michael Kaukas for the great jobthey continued with over this past year. I am personally sad, along with a lot of members, to have Brian Brown decide tocall it quits from an Executive position of this club. He has in the past held every possible position there is as an OffcerBearer and Commttee member of this Association for over the last sixteen years. He has been sincere and dedicated at altimes, and has helped other Members on Commttee to star off on the right foot, includig myself, and he now feels, andI know his wife definitely agrees, that it is now the time to have that well eared spelL. Al one can say is "good on yaMate" and I know that you wil continue to be active in this club with your support in the futue as you always have donein the past. I am sure past and present members certnly have appreciated it. I must also than Brian's wife Yvonne forthe work she puts in at al our ladies night organising the children's goodies, presents, raffles, doors prizes and so on. Irealise it's normlly the Presidents wife who should take on this task, but under the circumstances of my wife having thefull time job of raising two young grandchildren she is worn out by the days end. Also the other ladies that help on thisspecial evening I than you one and all. Michael Kaukas has also decided to step down as Treasurer because of his health, personal commtments and the moving of house. I think he has done a great job. We had a lot of fun at meetings, havinggoes at him about his hearg and his eyesight, but he knows deep down, especially from me it was always in the verybest of fun. Many thans must go to our Commttee Members Don Ashton, Ian Eddy and Dave Marsh who have also beenvery supportive over the last twelve Months. I sincerely than and appreciate Jim Hars, our Anzac co-ordinator, and hishandful of tireless helpers once again for the big effort they put in each and every year, at this very important Anzacfunction and of course not forgetting our caterer, Ian Eddy on Anzac Days who always keeps the troops well fed andwatered. Many than's to Gordon Edwards and Beven Fenner our AOMC delegates and club representatives. I would liketo than Dave and Linda Marsh as our newsletter editors that do a very important and time consumig task, and I mustsay, a superb job well done. A big than's to Beven and John Fenner, once agai for the invitation to gather at yourbeautiful country property for our annual Club Swap Meet. Than you also to Greg Nicholls for tang on the very borigbut the necessar libraran job for us. Something I have forgotten over the last eight years and that is to give specialthans to Don Baily, who has never once hesitated when asked to take over the chaian's position at our Anual General

Elections. Last but not least, we had some realy great outings agai over the last twelve months. I personally than allthose members who organised some of the outings, the campout weekends and bush trips that a lot of us really enjoyed. Ithan the entire local and especially the country members for your full support and for mang this another veryinteresting year. Than you all sincerely,

Lionel Smar President VMVC.

SECRETARY'S REPORTWell, the time has finally arved. Time to say good bye to the V.M.V.C. in an offcial capacity. I have enjoyed my timeon the Commttee over the years and wil always look back to what was achieved. A than you also to you the members who have supported us through the years. It has been a pleasure toserve you. Of course there are always some members who lie to complain about the Corps or commttee, but I can assureyou, that they are only a very small minority. To the Commttee for the comig year, I wish you well and ask you themembers to give them your support as I know you wil, especially to the new Secretar and Treasurer. To Lionel,Graham, Michael, David, Don and Ian, the Commttee of the past few years, a big than you. You have al done your jobswelL. We have had some lively debates, but that is what it is all about, not being yes men and not afaid to have your say.It is now time to take up my position on the floor with the other members and try to remember that I am no longer on theCommttee. Something that wil take a bit of getting used to. I wil stil tr to go to as many outings as I can as that iswhere I have always had the most enjoyment. Getting out there and meeting people, especially those who are not able toget to meetings. Than you all once agai for letting me serve you over the years.

Editors ReportV.M.V.C. AGM 02/08/2005

As editors we would like to than all the members that have said positive remarks about the way that we have set out thenewsletters and the content within them over the past twelve months. Unfortnately you can not please every one but wehave done our best to do this. Than you to all the members that have sent in trip reports and photos and a specialthanou to those country and interstate members that have made a contribution to the newsletter content.Than you toMike Kelly for his interesting aricles. Than you to the President Lionel Smar for all the help and the many hours spentwhen we had problems with our computer and he helped with the upgrade with very short notice, we would also lie tothan Lionel for providing the Presidents blast from the past photos. We would like to than Russell Sloan for getting themembers name labels to us in time for us to be able to post the newsletter at the earliest possible time so all members hadthere newsletter by the time the monthly meeting was held. We would like to than the staff at Ferntree Prt and CopyCentre for there help in the priting and the quality of the newsletter as on many occasions we had to make last minuteadjustments and we never had to wait more than a day for the newsletter to be printed. A very important mention, we asthe vmvc editors would like to than Brian Brown for changig the way that he had been so used to for so many years bysending the secretaes club business as in the minutes, comig events, for sale, members changed addresses, newmembers and wanted ads and all the other notices and club related business that needed to go in the newsletter it was allsent to us in a way that made our job as editors easier and I think Brian found it also to be easier than in past years. Sofrom Linda and myself we thanou very much and wish you well in whatever path you choose to go down. This positionas newsletter editors has been a great chalenge for myself and my wife Linda, we have had plenty off comments and e-mails on how to produce the newsletter and how to change the format and what the content within should be, all thesecomments should be directed to the club commttee not the editors, so if any off these people would lie to take the job onas the vmvc editors feel free to put your hand up at any time and have ago as the newsletter wil be done in the same waythat it has been for the past twelve months, we are prepared to move aside for anyone wishing to take on the position asthe vmvc editors. If the club members have no objections Linda and myself would once again lie to continue on as theV.M.V.C. newsletter editors on a permanent basis.
