We are steadily getting back into the swing of things with our clubs and organisations coming to life again. Most o f t h e m w e r e ke e n t o reopen again once the new Alert Level came into place. In Pauanui for example, Menz Shed has resumed, the Ladies Handcraft group is meeting again, Pauanui Focus Club is meeting this week, and the Garden Club i s m e et i n g t h i s m o nt h . In Tairua, Tairua Rugby & Sports Club has junior teams being organised and the Senior Rugby team played their first game on Saturday at Thames, Tairua Bowling Club is re-opening their premises for social activities and other clubs’ use, Tairua Care & Friendship has resumed the community health shuttles and is gearing up for the resumption of their Tuesday luncheons.

As we return to our normal lifestyle, it is important that we remember that the country is still in COVID-19 Alert Level 1, which comes with border restrictions, tracking where we have been, and plenty of health advice. One of the most important health measures still in play is ‘staying home if you are sick’. If you are coughing and sneezing in public you could be a health risk to others. Please stay home. Wonderfu l thanks for endurance through the levels, was a letter received by Tairua Pharmacy last week from the Ministry of Health acknowledging steadfast operation during the pandemic, particularly managing the issues around safe access to premises. The Ministry recognised that the staff had “gone above and beyond to help.” We totally agree!

He Mana Toi Moehau Trust/Creative Coromandel are excited to announce the launch of a new, much-needed art initiative for the Thames-Coromandel District/Hauraki rohe - the p A RTn e r U p M e nto r i n g Programme. With support and funding from Creative New Zealand’s Arts Continuity Grant, pARTner Up will connect creatives with experienced artist mentors, who between them hold a wealth of skills, knowledge and life experience, to help mentees take a significant step forward in their artistic careers. pARTner Up is a 9 month commitment but wil l be delivered in two phases. The first phase runs from 27 June 2020 to 30 September 2020. The second phase will run through from October 2020 to March 2021 with a break over December and January. Currently there is no artist mentoring programme in these regions, one which is responsive to the needs and aspirations of

individual artists. Master Certified Coach and PapaAroha resident, Linley Rose, will facilitate the programme. Linley is a globally qualified and experienced coach and mentor, coaching clients and training coaches in many diverse industry groups. “We are looking for creatives who are strongly committed to developing their art practice and are willing to see the programme through from start to finish," explains Linley. “Each creative will be paired with a mentor. The mentors will share their experiences and wisdom for success in the art world and encourage their mentee to step outside of their existing comfort zones."
