Memory Maker

Living Inside Out Every Day!

DISTRIBUTEGive a copy of today’s “Living Inside Out Every Day!” handout to each child. Say: This paper has ideas for how you can live inside out this week. Let’s choose our Daily Challenges.

DAILY CHALLENGES™Read the Daily Challenges aloud. Have children circle the one they’ll do this week.

MAKE THE CONNECTIONSay: God told Moses his name, “I Am Who I Am,” meaning God is always the same. We know God never changes.

PRAYPray: Thank you, God, for never changing. Thank you for being someone we can always count on. We love you. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Memory MakerYOU’LL NEED Bibles • Bible Memory Makers®

1. DISTRIBUTEGive each person a Bible Memory Maker star.

2. SAY THE VERSESay: Part of our Key Verse, Psalm 47:7, is on this star. Let’s look up the full verse and read it together: “For God is the King over all the earth. Praise him with a Psalm!” God rules over everything, including the stars in the sky. Just as the sun sets every day and the stars come out at night, we know God never changes.

3. FIND A PARTNERHave partners discuss these questions. Let volunteers share their ideaswith the rest of the group.

• What in your life, if anything, always stays the same?

• What are some of God’s qualities that never change?

• How would your life be diff erent if you couldn’t count on God staying the same?

4. TOSSHave kids form a circle. Let each person say one constant quality of God, such as God’s love or wisdom, and then toss his or her star to another person in the circle. That person will say an unchanging quality of God and then toss both stars to another person. Let kids know you’ll be last, and continue until all the stars return to you.

5. MAKE THE CONNECTIONSay: God told Moses his name is “I Am Who I Am”—God never changes. We don’t have to worry whether God will love us one day and not the next. God stays the same, no matter what. We know God never changes! Put the stars away for next week.

Daily Challenge®

Living Inside Out Every Day!

ROUND 3 DESIGN 94963 LIO FA12 StarQuest UEMar. 14, 2012

Choose a Challenge!Your child chose the marked challenge for the week. Help your child remember to follow through and live out his or her faith.

CHALLENGE 1Find or draw something that seems like it’s eternal (a rock, a mountain, the sun). On your object or picture, write “I Am = Forever.” Thank God that he will last longer than that thing.

CHALLENGE 2Use the Internet to fi nd out what’s the largest number known to man. (Hint: It’s bigger than a google.) Worship God because he’s bigger than everything and any number. God never changes!

CHALLENGE 3Make an “I Am Who I Am” mural with your family. Draw pictures of things God has made that you can count on, such as the sun, moon, and stars. Talk about God’s eternal qualities. Then thank God for never changing!

The Inside TruthYour child learned that God is eternal and he is the king over everything! God told Moses that his name is “I Am Who I Am.” God wants us to remember that he’s eternal and unchanging.

Do You Remember?Talk about these questions with your child:

• What does God’s name mean?

• Why is God’s name important?

• How does knowing God never changes help you?

You’ll Need

hard candies or lollipops

All Gone!1. Gather your family, and give everyone a hard candy or

lollipop.

2. Put the candies in your mouths.

3. Talk about the things you love about God while your candies get smaller and smaller.

4. Discuss the diff erence between things that change, like the candy, and things that don’t, like God.

King for a Day1. Gather your family, and choose one person to be “king” for

fi ve minutes. The king can make rules, command everyone, make requests...and just basically be in charge.

2. Obey the king’s requests until the time is up.

3. Play until everyone gets a chance to be king.

4. Discuss how it felt to be king, and compare how each of you “ruled” with how God rules.

Parents, choose “King for a Day” or “All Gone!” to help reinforce what your child learned.
