Cooling and ventilation
12/03/2015
Requirements for laser cooling
• Water pressure: 2 – 8 bars• Water temperature: 18°C - 20°C
Water supplies available in the tunnel
Demineralized water• Water pressure: up to 16 bars• Water temperature: 28°C
Chilled water• Water pressure: up to 16 bars• Water temperature: 6°C
Solution proposed by CV
To install a heat exchanger with a closed water circuit between laser and chilled water with a water pump to fulfil laser cooling requirements

Laser Room Integration
– Arrangement of laser components on optical tables has been proposed by Amplitude
– Discussions on possibility to reduce the size of pulse compressor chamber took place (MPP, Amplitude and CERN) - > Diameter 120 cm is agreed.
– Integration is on-going: • Ventilation• Supporting structures for hoist, shelves and cables • Racks and cable trays• Services
