A position from 95.0 to 99.5 in the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).In addition, candidates must also possess the following minimum qualifications: SQA CreditLevel Standard Grade, GCSE (A or B) or equivalent, orIB at least Standard IB Level,in English and Mathematics.

School of History: The School of History is composed of over forty full-time members ofacademic staff researching and teaching on European, American and Asian history from the
dawn of the Middle Ages to the present day. In the most recent Research AssessmentExercise (RAE 2008), 60% of the publications submitted by the staff in the School of History
were judged to be world leading or internationally excellent. The School of History prides
itself on small group teaching and tutorials allowing for in-depth study and supervision
tailored to secure the best from each of our students.
Distinctive features of this course: As a Joint Honours degree student you will study bothsubjects equally offering you a wide choice of options within subjects. You will grapple with
contending interpretations of the same events and processes occurring in international affairs
and study history in chronological depth. There are a number of specialist options for you to
pursue including human rights; the various impacts of globalisation; forms of contemporarypolitical violence and conflict and conflict prevention and resolution within Africa; Central,
East and South Asia; Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union British cinema history,
modern Iranian history or environmental history. The small teaching groups ensure that you

MA (Hons) Economics and International RelationsLL12School of Economics and Finance: The School of Economics & Finance brings theexcitement and understanding from the latest cutting edge research into our teaching. We are
consistently ranked the top Economics School in Scotland. Our research was highly rated in
the most recent Research Assessment Exercise (RAE 2008) with 55% of our research rated asworld leading or internationally excellent. We build a structured and rigorous foundation
of economic concepts, principles, analysis, techniques and knowledge. Our strengths are in
applied theory, dynamic macroeconomics, finance, household economics, competition,
innovation and climate change.

Africa; Central, East and South Asia; Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union and the
Middle East. The background of many of the teaching staff, who as well as being experienced
academics, have extensive experience working for, or advising, a number of organisations
such as the Council of Economic Advisers to the First Minister, the Bank of England, the
European Central Bank (ECB), HM Customs and Inland Revenue and the Calman
Commission.

guises), accounting and finance. Expertise in these areas is brought together in degree

International Business and International Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Human Resource

MA (Hons) International Relations and Social AnthropologyLL62School of Social Anthropology: St Andrews' Social Anthropology is at the forefront ofresearch-led departments in the UK. Famed for its intellectual rigour as well as its friendly
atmosphere, the department offers a number of taught degrees in the ancient and beautifulsetting of Scotland's first university. We have three internationally recognised research
centres: the Centre for Amerindian, Latin American and Caribbean Studies, the Centre forCosmopolitan Studies and the Centre for Pacific Studies. We regularly host postdoctoralfellows and visiting professors. There are a number of Erasmus exchange opportunities forstaff and students. The department aims to provide teaching that renews the discipline and
