The XXXI edition of the “Giornate Cardiologiche Torinesi” – confirms the capacity of this traditional meeting to renew itself each year. Still organized in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, the congress has incorpora-ted over the years the programs and ar-guments of more focused meetings such as “Great Innovation in Cardiology” organized by Dr. Marra and “Advances in Cardiac Arrhythmias” organized by Prof. Gaita”. To further extend the signifi-cance of the Congress the meeting has included over the last few years coverage of Cardiac Surgery (Prof. Ri-naldi) and this year, for the first time, will include also Vascular Surgery (Prof. Rispoli). To accomodate the vastity of the various arguments the Congress will last three full days during which all no-velties in the cardiovascular field wil be appropraitely covered. Live cases will be particularly ap-pealing: they will include novel appro-aches to Transacatheter Aortic Valve Implantation, including transcaval and transcarotid approaches, cases of acute type B aortic dissection, beating heart surgical approaches to mitral valve

repair and more. The presence of simula-tors will allow many participants to have a “hands-on” experience of different tec-niques. Specific topics of growing interest such as cardio-oncology and advanced cardiac imaging will be discussed as well as a glimpse to the future in terms of hte possible development of a reliable artifi-cial heart. Establshed arguments such as ar-terial hypertension, pulmonary hyper-tension, atrial fibrillation, myocarditis and pericarditis will be approached with the goal of updating the audience on the most important new developments and critically discussing guidelines as well as practical real-life treatment approaches. The traditional presence of speaker from the Mayo Clinic, considered the best Hospital in the world, will enrich the si-gnificance of the whole meeting. Hosts of this edition of the Mee-ting will be Prof. Gaetano Maria De Fer-rari, just appointed as new Head of the University Cardiology in Torino, joining Prof. Mauro Rinaldi, Head of Cardiac Surgery and of the Cardio-thoracic Department of the University Hospi-tal as well as Prof. Fiorenzo Gaita and Dr. Sebastiano Marra, founders of the Meeting.
