Reflection Understanding and communicating with families was a very important way to learn how to assist families in Toronto, Canada and around the world giving the fact that as an Early Childhood Educator I will be working with children and families from all over the world. Canada is a multi cultural country with people from all over the world and different works of life. As an Early Childhood Educator it is very important to have knowledge about the resources that are available to help families. The agency I visited was the Scarborough Women Centre in Scarborough, I was so amaze when I got to the centre and saw what they were offering to the community. They even offer services to people with disabilities, which mean every body in the community who needed their services where going to have it. They also offer services to new immigrants which is very important because a lot of immigrant in Canada faces language barriers, unemployment, and difficulties settling in Canada. Our community is made up of people with different social background, income, and jobs along side different problems. As an Early Childhood Educator I will be working with families and will have the opportunity to assist those that need assistance with the services that Scarborough women centre and other centers that I have learn about are providing by referring them to these centers. I also had the opportunity to learn about other agencies and their services. I learn about an agency call Native Child and Family Services of Toronto which provide services like women counseling, family support services, cultural programs, and Children’s Mental Health. We know one of the barriers most immigrants faces is that they are not able to integrate in to the society because of language barrier. This centre provides family

Reflection

Understanding and communicating with families was a very important way to learn how to assist families in Toronto, Canada and around the world giving the fact that as an Early Childhood Educator I will be working with children and families from all over the world.

This centre provides family support services for families with language barrier. Another agency that inspires me is the Global Family which provides services such as special equipment for students with disabilities, residential orphanages, support for students and uniforms. They also assist individuals, families, and communities in other countries with educational support. As a global citizen we have to support and assist families in other countries no matter the country, race or color every body needs the same support.
