Ethics & Integrity in Ministry (EIM)

Serving in ministry at the UCC?

By order of the Bishop, anyone serving in a

ministry that works with children or vulnerable

adults must be certified by the office for Ethics and

Integrity in Ministry (EIM). To be certified,

you must submit an online application to the

Diocese and attend a 3-hour “Basic” workshop.

Those who have already been certified must also

attend a 1.5 hour “Refresher” workshop every three years in order

to maintain their certification. Please note that the UCC will host

one of each type of workshop every Fall and Spring semester.

To register and to learn more, visit the Diocese of Austin

webpage and click on “EIM Workshops” under the “Quick Links”

tab. You may attend ANY available workshop in the Diocese—you

do not need to attend those offered by the UCC. If you have any

questions, please contact Matthew at [email protected].

Upcoming workshops at the UCC:

3/08 Refresher (1.5-hour) in the Catacombs, 7:00 pm

3/09 BASIC (3-hour) in the Catacombs, 7:00 pm

This comprehensive introduction to Catholic

doctrine is FREE to attend and will meet

every Monday in the St. Thomas More

Library on the 2nd floor from 7:00-8:00

pm. You may attend any topic that

interests you! Brochures with overviews of

the topics to be presented are available at any time in the UCC

Date change • men’s vocation pilgrimage

The dates of the MEN’S VOCATION PILGRIMAGE

have been changed to May 17-25. The pilgrimage is for

undergraduate men from the UCC who would like to

live with and serve alongside Religious Priests and

Brothers in NYC. If interested, please see Brother Rob

([email protected])!

Special Prayer request

This Friday a group of young women from the UCC will head to

San Antonio for a 3 day Vocation Pilgrimage where they will have

the opportunity to live, serve, and pray with the Congregation of

Divine Providence, the Daughters of Charity, and the Marianist

Sisters. Let us keep these women in our prayers!

Catechumen profiles • Christian Natajaya

We want everyone in the UCC community to get to know those

who are going through RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)

to become full members of the Catholic Church at Easter. Today

we profile Christian Natajaya!

I'm Christian Natajaya (quite the A student, as

reflected in my last name). I was born in

Indonesia, studied in Singapore, and now I'm

here for college. I came to the UCC because I

want to grow closer to God, so that I may trust

Him in tough times, so that I may receive His

strength to overcome temptations, and be able to

listen to Him. I study Chemical Engineering, and

I think calculus can be fun. I like adrenaline, especially skiing and

roller coasters. But I also enjoy the natural scenery, hiking or

staying in a farm for a few days in Australia – fun!
