Each plug is labelled, indicating the connected type of cable.A corresponding label is found on top of the mating connector fixed tothe Electronics Module Interface board. If these labels for somereason are missing, make sure to mark the connectors prior todisconnecting the plugs in order to ensure correct connections whenreassembling.
NOTE:
In case of the transponder being the version of the steel housing, power forexternal fan must be disconnected also!

Installing the Electronics Module
1.: Install the replacement Electronics Module by first connecting thecoaxial cables attached to the transponder housing prior toinserting the Electronics Module completely in the transponderhousing. In this process excersize care not to impose strain to thecoaxial cables and connectors. Do not tighten connectors at thispoint. This will be done done later in the replacement process.
2.: Fully insert the Electronics Module in the housing, install thescrews/nuts and tighten securely, using the 10mm screwdriver/socket wrench.

At this point make sure that the coaxial cables are connected to theappropriate connectors in the Electronics Module, i.e. the external transpondercable connectors marked LAN, GPS and VHF should be connected to thecorrespondingly marked connectors of the Electronics Module. This is importantfor the proper function of the transponder.

Lifting of the Cover of the Transponder Housing
This chapter is applicable to transponders of cast aluminium housing only.
Transponders of this version when installed in a confined installation space maybe subjected to prolonged excessive heating in case of a fan failure. Tominimize the risk of such prolonged excessive heating the cover of thetransponder housing should be lifted using the stand offs and protection gridsupplied with the Electronics Module replacement kit p/n 55.216.
Install the four stand offs into the threaded holes of the transponder housingand tighten, using 10mm wrench.
