After arriving at Floodstock, the risers and drums were quickly set up, as well as the microphones. The chorus groups were introduced by Evelyn Vaccarro herself, and went on to sing "These Green Mountains", and then, "If the Earth Could Speak", with drum accompaniment by Colin Lozito, and featuring soloists from the Twin Valley High School Chorus. “I saw tears in the crowd” says Evelyn. “I’m just so proud that all of you worked so hard to make sure that it just came out perfect. Thank you so much.” After that, the tables turned as Evelyn took the chorus members that hadn’t left by then and interviewed them about the flood and Floodstock 2011. New School Year, New Staff !

Twin Valley has appointed Mr. Robert Morse as the school’s new principal. ýýHe was excited about getting the 2011-2012 school year started. Teachers met for workshops, and the school was prepared for the students. Then, tropical storm Irene hit Wilmington.ý Mr. Morse felt that we lost the momentum of the new school year due to the extra days off from the flooding, but learned how strong this town is. He says his experience so far has been great.ý In a recent interview, Mr. Morse shared that his last school in Keene was rather large. He was ready for a change. He thought a smaller school would be a good experience because he’d be able to get to know the kids better. “I rode a ski lift up at Mt. Snow one day and someone was talking to me about Twin Valley High School. They told me that this school was looking for a new principal, so I decided to apply.” His plan is to commit to at least two years - maybe more.ý Like any good grandfather, he wants some time to spend with his grandkids, so he’s not making any promises.Mr. Morse said he’s really looking forward to the sports events, music concerts, plays, watching the kids grow and mature, and seeing everyone realize their dreams. Mr. Morse said he’s really looking forward to the sports events, music concerts, plays, watching the kids grow and mature, and seeing everyone realize their dreams. His least favorite part of the job? “All the paperwork, but no one likes paperwork”. His favorite part of being a principal is working with the kids and being a supporter. ý If you haven’t already met him, you can find him in his office that’s as blue as the sky, where you can see pictures of his 14-year-old rescue dog or get some candy. ýIf you want to get on his good side, offer him a tootsie roll and ask him about his grandkids.ý

Twenty-eight year old Mr. Wuoti is the newest addition to Twin Valley's math department. He recently moved to Wilmington from Westminster, Massachusetts, with his wife, and they are expecting their first child. Mr. Wuoti accepted the job at TVHS because he and his wife like the outdoors, the idea of a small community, and living close to the school helped them cut down to one vehicle – he walks to work. So far Mr. Wouti says that he likes it here at TVHS, and plans to stay for a while. He previously worked at a nuclear power plant. Before that he worked at a school with over two thousand students, where he was responsible for 130. Having a smaller amount of students here makes it easier

to give much more individual help to those who need it. At his previous school he had worked with nine different math teachers, so its a change to only have two here. Mr. Wuoti has been teaching math for six years. He is a graduate of Pittsburgh State Collage, class of 2003. He also has taken two classes at North Eastern University towards his masters. In high school, his favorite subjects were math and history. When asked if he'd always wanted to teach math, he said at first he wanted to become a preacher, but his mother wouldn't let him. So he decided he would get a job as a math teacher since it had similar skills as being a preacher. He said, “They’re similar because they both deal with people and communicating.” Mr. Wuoti preached as a youth minister for ten years. He still preaches sometimes and has recently been helping out the Wilmington Baptist church. Brian's favorite “sport” is actually playing a video game called Star Craft 2. He said “It’s a game with international tournaments.“ Don't be fooled by him liking a video game, he actually likes the

outdoors a lot; he has hiked haystack several times since moving here. Hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, and white water kayaking are some of his other favorite things to do. He jokes about being an amateur kayaker and says he has fallen in plenty of times. He says that he’s a highly intermediate skier; even though he loves skiing he only goes when it’s free because it’s so expensive. Other miscellaneous information: · He has four pets, a nine-year-old boxer named Stormy, a 1-year-old boxer named Tali, and two bearded dragons. · His favorite color at the moment is burnt orange, but he also likes blue and green.· His favorite candy is Raisinets. · His role model in the school is Mrs. Sopper, since they share the same philosophies. He hopes that he can be a good role model to the students, as well.
