Herbed Meatballs in Tomato Sauce

Serves: 6 (4 meatballs per serving) • Prep Time: 20 minutes • Total Time: 50 minutes

1¼ lbs./567 g. ground beef

¾ cup part skim mozzarella cheese, shredded

1 tsp. dried oregano

2 eggs

1 cup white onion, quartered

1 clove garlic

1 tbsp. pesto (use Simple Arugula Pesto recipe on pg. 5)

all purpose flour

1 tbsp. olive oil

1 jar marinara sauce

chopped basil to garnish

Let’s Cook!

In a Quick Chef, chop onion until fine. Combine beef, cheese, oregano, eggs, onion, garlic and pesto in

a Thatsa® Bowl until well mixed. Dust your hands with flour. Using the tbsp. from the Measuring Spoon set,

scoop out the beef mixture and roll into balls. Continue until all the beef is molded into meatballs. Heat the

Preheat oven to 375° F/190° C. Combine black beans, turkey, Seasoning Blend and salsa in a Thatsa® Bowl

and stir until well mixed. Roll dough into a 12”/30 cm circle. Using the cutting side of the Pie Press, cut 4 circles

of dough, repeat with other half of dough then reroll and cut scraps. Hold the Pie Press open; place one

of the circular cutouts on the side with the teeth. Brush the dough with a thin layer of beaten egg on the teeth.

Place 1 tbsp. of the turkey mixture in the center of the dough and sprinkle with cheese. Seal by closing the
