READINGS FOR THE WEEK - AUGUST 5

AUGUST 5, 2018 E IGHTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY

Page 4: Tu es Sacerdos in æternum. - Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish

from the Pastor’s Desk...

My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, It is with great joy that we celebrate

the Ordination and First Mass of

Canon Weaver. Canon was ordained

a priest in a beautiful Mass at the

historic St. Francis de Sales Church in

St. Louis, Missouri on Thursday,

August 2, and will be celebrating his

First Solemn High Mass here at

Sacred Heart of Jesus this Sunday at

5 p.m. Please come and be part of

this wonderful celebration. Also please plan on attending

the reception following and the surprise grand finale!

I am very proud of Canon’s accomplishments. He will be

a good and holy priest. Let us remember him in our

prayers.

Let us continue our prayers for the two men of our parish

who have answered God’s call to serve Him as ordained

priests:

Dr. Eric Lee, who will be leaving this week to begin

his studies with the Dominican’s in the Western Province.

While he will be greatly missed here at the parish, we look

forward to seeing him when he is back for visits.

Joe McCarron, who is entering his third year at our

Diocesan Seminary. Joe is well respected by the faculty

and his fellow seminarians at Borromeo.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank John

Dittoe and the men of the Knights of Columbus, as well as

those of you who prepared food for last week’s Parish

Picnic! What a great turn out! It was such a fun event. I

was happy to meet some of our new families in the parish.

Welcome!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! I am so

very grateful for the many ways you have assisted us in

accumulating the dollars necessary to accomplish some

much needed work around the Church and parish grounds

these past couple of weeks. You will find descriptions

and pictures of the work that was accomplished in the

bulletins of August 12 and 19.

May God’s blessings be yours this week. Father Ireland

MASS INTENTIONS (*) ANNIVERSARY

AUGUST 5, 2018 EIGHTEENTH

Mass Intentions Needed …

Currently we have approximately 125 Mass remaining for

the year 2018. Each of these Masses requires an Intention.

More than half of them are at 6:45 a.m., and another 25%

are on Sundays. There are NO SATURDAY Masses left for

this year.

While we know that 6:45 a.m. is not a particularly popular

Mass time for our parishioners who do not work, it is fairly

well attended each day. Please consider taking an Intention

for one of these remaining Masses and be assured that there

will be many people in church praying for your loved one,

even if you are not able to be there.

“Thank you” to all who faithfully support our parish each

week. We depend on your generosity to carry out the

mission of Jesus Christ in South Euclid. It is only with

your continued and regular support that we can provide

the current variety of parish ministries to them. If you have

discontinued your financial suport, please consider

reinstating that practice.

Parents: Please encourage your children to develop the

weekly practice of bringing their envelopes when they come

to church with you.

If you would be interested in a carefree way to contribute

to your parish each month, please call Eileen Gerome at the

Parish Office Monday-Wednesday (216.382.7601). She

will be happy to assist you in setting up this option with
