Staff analyzed student academic growth between benchmark A (September) and benchmark B (December). We are busy nalizing all plans for this year's Senior Class trip. Parents will make nal payment one week from today. I am excited to announce that we will now begin accepting Senior trip payments from families throughout the four years of high school in hopes to best support the greatest number of students possible in participating in this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Please read the letter below for additional details. Next week will begin the course selection process. By February 18th, all 8th through 11th grade students will have selected 8 courses to enroll in next school year as well as 2 course alternates. The selection of courses for a student is perhaps the most impactful academic decision that a family makes on both the child’s high school experience and on the opportunities that the child will have after graduation. A student’s high school coursework should be chosen by considering both a student’s interests and their aspirations beyond high school.

athletes will be called to the auditorium. NCAA eligibilityrequirements are now more demanding than ever before:

A student’s grade point average for NCAA eligibility is veryunique. This GPA exclusively factors in English, Math,Science, Social Studies, and Foreign Language courses.

A student must earn at least a 2.3 grade point average (on a4.0 scale) in at least 16 English, Math, Science, SocialStudies, and Foreign Language courses to fully qualify forNCAA Division I scholarship and participation eligibility. The Division II requirement is a2.2 GPA. 10 of these courses must be completed by the end of Junior year.

Both Division I & II eligibility now includes a “sliding” SAT scale with minimal scoresbeginning at 920 for Division II and 980 for Division I.

physical education shirts - semester 2We have made plans to join many area high schools in providing students with school-issuedt-shirts to wear during Physical Education class. These t-shirts will be provided to all studentsat no cost. We will provide two shirts to every student at the beginning of the secondsemester (currently scheduled to begin January 29th, 2020).
