Just a few short years ago, we had less than 50% of our student body taking either test. Now, we are close to 100% on both. The experience for our students and the resulting data that both families and our staff can utilize have already proven invaluable. When student results arrive in their College Board accounts, we will take the next step and present to them about the value of linking their College Board account to a Khan Academy account for continued personalized practice for SAT & collegiate success in addition to the highest-quality instruction that they receive daily at GHS. The Class of 2019 continues to build a lot of positive momentum as we advance through our "College Drive" month. With acceptances already achieved to nationally-respected schools like the University of Alabama & University of Tennessee, I am excited to see the responses to all of the applications that we are working hard to complete. Seniors parents should try to not miss out on the opportunity to come to GHS this Monday night at 6 p.m. to actually complete their nancial aid forms in the presence of nancial aid professionals.

what is eof?On Friday during Study Hall, our Seniors will learn about the NewJersey Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF). Many of ourgraduates were supported immensely by this program. EOFprovides nancial assistance and support services (e.g.counseling, tutoring, and developmental course work) tostudents from educationally and economically disadvantaged backgrounds who attendinstitutions of higher education in the State of New Jersey. Undergraduate grants range from$200 annually to $2,600 annually depending on the type of institution and nancial need. 42 ofNew Jersey’s community colleges and public and private four-year colleges and universitiesparticipate in the EOF program. However, the actual number of available spaces at eachcollege or university is limited. Because EOF is a campus-based program, each campus isresponsible for student recruitment, selection, program services, and its own specic criteriafor EOF admission and program participation. Students should contact the EOF director at theinstitution of their interest for additional information. Please know that EOF is one of the most impactful programs when it comes to supportingfamilies struggling to nance their child's college education. Learn more about EOF, includingtheir Income Eligibility Scale by clicking here - EOF.

There are four themes in the AP Statistics course:exploring data, sampling and experimentation, anticipating patterns, and statistical inference.Students use technology, investigations, problem solving, and writing as they build conceptualunderstanding. Freshmen, Steven Light & Rasheer Fleming, and their classmates took the PSAT for the rsttime in their academic careers. We have established the expectations that nearly all studentstake the PSAT in October of their 9th, 10th, and 11th grade years.
