Conclusions

• Bothobservationsandclimatesimulationsindicatethatthewidthofthetropics followsthemeridionalvariationsofsubtropicalfronts.

• Underglobalwarming,thesubtropicalfrontsadvancetowardspoles duetoenhancedwarmingoverthesubtropicalocean.

• Polewardadvancingofthesubtropicalfrontsshifts theedgesofthetropics,westerlies,jetstreamsandstormtrackstowardspoles.
