PARKING PROCEDURES
Three engine acft shall shut down middle engine before entering apron. If docking guidance
system is not activated, acft shall stop immediately and wait for Follow-me or marshaller.
Arriving ACFT to stand 22 & 24 shall not use more than idle thrust.
Use of brake-away thrust not permitted, under these circumstances towing is mandatory.
APU shall not be operated on parking stand unless required for engine start or adjustment of
cabin heating. In no case APU may be started earlier than 5 min before estimated time for
push-back or taxiing.
Unless otherwise requested aircraft will normally be guided to nose-in parking. Pilot in
command must ensure that towbar for push-back is available before accepting this parking
procedure.
At parking stands 1-8(APIS):
Centerline and stopping guidance are provided from a display unit mounted at the extension of
the stand centerline.
1. Intercept the centerline and follow the azimuth guidance display.
2. Check correct acft type/series on the APIS display.
3. Abort docking if display shows "STOP" or wrong acft type/series.
4. At STOP position the red lights are lit and the display indicates "STOP", and the centerline
beacon is swiched off. If correctly parked the display shows "OK".
5. If coming too far the display indicates "TOO FAR". The safety area is passed and push-back
may be necessary.
