Former Harvard president, Secretary of the Treasury in the Clintonadministration, and director of the National Economic Council in theObama administration, among other prestigious posts, Lawrence H.Summers is the only social scientist ever to receive the National ScienceFoundation’s Alan T. Waterman Award for Scientific Achievement.

The lecture is free and open to the public. Seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis; tickets or reservations are not required.

Trinity University’s KRTU-FM 91.7 year-long Year of Jazz celebration willculminate with The Grand Finale eventfeaturing a reprise of the San AntonioJazz Suite commissioned last year, withspecial guest musicians and a performance by the Jim Cullum Jazz Band. The Finale will honor thegolden age of jazz through a slide show of historic photos from the Institute of Texan Cultures as wellas San Antonio’s early iconic jazz destinations and legendary musicians. Bands will launch the festivitiesby playing jazz as guests enter the auditorium. Incorporating a birthday party theme to celebrate 10 yearsof the radio station’s jazz format, the event will usher in a new golden age of jazz in San Antonio.
