PurposeOversee the development and delivery of live in-person events and virtual programming, with the goal of enhancing professional development and opportunities for members to network and knowledge share

Education Committee

PurposeManage the development of asynchronous online educational content, non-conference CME offerings, program innovation, fellowship program opportunities and curriculum updates, and patient educational materials

Areas of Responsibility1) Professional Development: Learning

resources (simulations, technology, clinical resources, etc.)

2) Trainee Curriculum: Mentorship, fellowship directory, subspecialty-specific training resources, networking

3) Patient Education4) Multidisciplinary Education: Materials

for non-anesthesiology clinicians, resources to raise awareness about obstetric anesthesiology

Governance Committee

PurposeProvide guidance on governance matters and maintain the integrity of governance documentsImprove the performance of the society by identifying gaps in competencies or demographics, recommending structural and process improvements, and recruiting potential future leaders

Intersociety Committee

Research Committee

PurposeCoordinate SOAP’s support of and participation in research initiatives to further the practice of obstetric anesthesiology and the optimization of maternal and fetal health

2) Abstract and case report selection for the Annual Meeting

3) Research Collaboration: Multi-institution research initiatives through the research network, research-related surveys involving SOAP members
