Timisoara has become part of the great European cities in which the magic of the Viennese ball is present. A new magical edition of this event shall take place in our city, in December 6, 2013.The Viennese Ball from the “Small Vienna”, a tradition brought back to the cultural and eco-nomic life of Timisoara. A charitable event that has as main purpose the creation of values, attitudes, social contexts and that also brings together this city’s elites. An event whose goal is to revive the values of a bygone era that had a decisive role in the culture of this part of the country, to restore the Romanian social values and to make them part of the European cul-ture.We would like for this event to become a tradition in the social life of Timisoara, to underline the business environment from the Banat area, to become the main bridge between the elites of the Romanian society and the representatives of the foreign business environment that is active in this area, representing, why not, an occasion for the guests of honor from abroad to discover the Banat area, with its most wonderful gifts.

We want to thank all our guests that celebrated and shared with us the magical moments of the First Edition from 2012 and we welcome you with the same energy, spirit and elegance, at the Second Edition, in December 6, 2013. The registration period has begun.

United Way România had the privilege of being the charity partner of the most important social event in Timisoara, the Viennese Ball. We would like to present our gratitude to the organizers, for offering us the opportunity to spread the message of United Way between the participants of the Viennese Ball, our message being that the only way to solve social problems is by involving a large number of community members. Furthermore, as this is a charity event, a part of the funds collected at the Viennese Ball from Timisoara, have been donated to United Way for supporting over 420 people – children, youngsters, adults and alders found in difficult situations.

United Way Romania supports projects in three very important areas, representing the foundation of a good life: education, health ad economic and social integration.United Way is a local donor, supporting local projects. Its funds derive from sponsoring, from social responsible companies, from donations made by the employees of those companies and from other individual contributions. The supporters of United Way have the confidence that the donated sums are used where needed: we support the most efficient and necessary projects of the community, projects that are evaluated and verified impartially and transparent, along with volunteers and do-nors. They are directly involved in the decision making regarding the selection of the organizations and their social projects, the assignment and verification of the funds and the final evaluation of the achieved results.We succeed to change the community in which we act, with assistance of our partners – companies and their employees, which are implicated as volunteers and donors. Because we approach problems that cannot be solved by one single organization, we collaborate with several NGOs with experience in our intervention area. Therefore, in Timisoara, United Way will also support the entire community by helping disadvan-taged persons that have a chance to a better life: children and families in difficulty, sick persons, per-sons with disabilities, persons without shelter.

Education20 children with difficulties in school and coming from disadvantaged families benefit of help with their homework, including the development of writing, reading and mathematic skills, material help and recreation within the educative Center. Other 200 children from the community shall be in-volved in social activities along with the kids from the educative Center. These activities have as main purpose the understanding of the non discrimination concept as well as the support of the disadvan-taged children. (in collaboration with the Association for Children and Parents)

80 teenagers that suffer of cancer and are long-term hospitalized shall benefit from the educative and artistic activities, animation programs, theater, the exploration of their talents, etc. These programs shall help them resist and fight the disease as well as help them prepare for the social and educational reintegration (in cooperation with the Association Little People Romania).

Health40 persons, adults and young people, with intellectual disabilities shall be supported regarding the access to specialized medical services. They shall benefit of our material and financial support (food, cleaning products and payment of bills) (in collaboration with the Foundation Pentru Voi). Economical and social integration 80 adult persons without shelter, with ages between 20 and 85 years shall benefit of a temporary shel-ter, hygiene and food. They shall be granted support in order to obtain legal rights (pension, mini-mum guaranteed income), shall learn how to apply for a job in order to become independent and to be integrated in the society (in collaboration with the Foundation Timisoara ‘89).
