Learn to waltz the Viennese way

It is traditional to dance a Viennese Waltz at the Ball and while school children are taught to waltz in Vienna it is not something that is in the normal curriculum in the UK.

Not to worry we have arranged a private waltzing lesson for our guests on the morning of the Ball. Here you will learn the basics to enable you to float across the floor in style.

Only our guests will attend the lesson with English speaking instructor in a historic venue.

Wiener Kaffeesiederball at the HofburgPalaceA Viennese Ball is a tradition that goes back centuries and is something that should be enjoyed at least once in your life. The Kaffeesieder Ball, Ball of the Viennese Coffee House Owners is one the largest and most traditional Balls.

You will arrive at the Ball in a horse drawn carriage and enjoy the evening from your reserved table.

Balls usually start late in the evening with an opening ceremony performed by young first-time ball attendees, the ‘debutants’, with the girls dressed white. After their first dance the Master of the ceremony will declare the ball is officially opened’, then everyone can take to the floor for the first waltz.

The dress code is formal and ladies are required to wear full length gowns, while gentlemen should carry white gloves.

The dance continues until the early hours of the morning. You may well find a coffee house still open on your way back to the hotel for a very early breakfast.

The Griechenbeisl

The oldest restaurant in Vienna the Griechenbeisl was opened in 1447 and was frequented by Beethoven, Brahms & Schubert

Look carefully and you will find Mark Twain’s autograph on one of the walls.

Walking Tour & Cake

Vienna is a compact city and the best way to see it is on foot with your own English speaking guide.

After a couple of hours exploring no visit to Vienna would be complete without a visit to a coffee house for coffee and cake.

Will you choose Sachertorte, Apple Strudel or the famous Annatorte?
