Big weekend for Scone Cup CarnivalContinued from front pageThe carnival is once again expected to attract excellent nominations with eight races each day and more than $2 million in prizemoney on offer with some high-profile horses expected to run.

CEO, Sarah Wills said, “This carnival is not possible without the support of our loyal sponsors for which Scone Race Club is very grateful. Local horse studs, sales and feed companies and associated businesses enable us to conduct this stand-alone meeting which is the penultimate event of the Scone & Upper Hunter Horse Festival.”

The event’s standalone metropolitan status for the two days is attracting national and international interest – fitting for such a well-regarded thoroughbred breeding region.

Away from the track, fashions in the field competitions will be run on both days. The winners will receive a trip for two to New Zealand flying business class.

Buses will be on hand to ferry patrons from Scone Railway Station and Satur shops to the racetrack and home for $10 return.

Buses will also operate from Muswellbrook Railway Station and Aberdeen’s Commercial Hotel for $20 return. For further information phone 6545 1607. Scone Cup Carnival - City class racing but country style: Image supplied courtesy of UHSC.

Genevieve Felix Reynolds now on exhibitMichael Reid Gallery of Murrurundi has great pleasure in presenting their current exhibition by Genevieve Felix Reynolds.Genevieve is an artist whose work spans sculpture, performance and painting. After graduating from the Queensland College of Art in 2011, Reynolds moved to Sydney to focus on her practice. Motivated partially by a fascination with baroque painting and architecture, her current paintings are preoccupied with the impact of colour and surface on conceptions of negative space. Reynolds’ recent exhibitions include solo shows at Michael Reid, Murrurundi, Wellington Street Projects, Sydney, and The Hold, Brisbane and CHASM Gallery in New York. She has been the recipient of several awards and grants (Godfrey River’s Medal, QCA Travel Grant, Art Start Grant, IDEA Festival).

The exhibition will conclude on 30th June 2015. For further information go to: michaelreid.com.au
