TrusTing in God’s provision, the session approved our current 2012-2013 budget with anticipa-tion that we as a church body would expand our generosity to-ward the many needs beyond our doors. We are overwhelmingly grateful for how the Lord is pro-viding and for our body’s faithful giving that is expanding new ministry opportunities.

The Lord calls us to generosity, not simply from obedience, but for the joy of worshipping Him with our resources and for the opportunity to serve the greater purposes of His Kingdom.

Generous giving by the PCPC body provides for our many as-pects of corporate worship, and for the numerous small groups, sunday Morning Communities, and weekday Bible studies that provide biblical instruction and community for hundreds in our body. More than 400 of our chil-dren are nurtured in our Chil-dren’s and Youth Ministries. Plus these resources allow for numer-ous opportunities beyond our doors, such as supporting ten ministries in the West Dallas area, thirty-eight foreign mis-sionaries, and a total of 107 church plants over the last sev-

eral years. These examples only highlight a portion of what the Lord is doing through our body.

our 2012-2013 operating bud- get anticipates $12,200,000 in total giving. However, only $11,800,000 is planned in regular ministry expenditures like those noted above as well as other op-erating expenses, leaving $400,000 for additional oppor-tunities as our body’s generosity makes it possible. At the end of December (the midpoint of our fiscal year), our body had given $7,234,373, which is 59% of our projected total giving and slight-ly ahead of our normal amounts for the end of the year.

Because of our standing in De-cember, we have been able to fund additional outreach minis-tries like Apartment Life and PCPC’s Arts Festival. We have provided additional funds for our Good sam and equip programs which meet the needs of those less fortunate in our community. Additional funds are now avail-able for local evangelism oppor-tunities and evangelistic short-term missions. Resources for new projects are also now avail-able for our World Missions and Urban ministries to plan beyond

what is already anticipated in our regular budget. We also have es-tablished a seed money fund to help support new ministry ideas birthed through our body.

At PCPC, we long to change the world together. Please continue to prayerfully consider how the Lord is calling you to use your resources for the Kingdom. Church leadership continually works to ensure the wise stew-ardship of all the Lord’s resourc-es, and with additional funds provided, we are able to put these resources to use toward the most important task of making Christ known in our city and around the world. The Apostle Paul spoke of the gifts of saints in the early church as “a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God” (Phil 4:18). May ours be so as well.
