Back home again after some tough games against ROC last week. We welcome the Berwick girls to Tooradin and look forward to some fantastic netball over the day!

Last week we braved the freezing conditions at ROC and unfortunately came away with only the one win. Our junior players did a great job against some very talented ROC players who are going to be a force in the finals this year. Well done to the junior award winners who were as follows: 13s White – Rebecca Nyhuis and Ella Murray, 13s Red – Charlee Webb and Layla Williams, 15s White – Elizabeth Thornton and Lauren Davies, 17s White – Chloe Crouch and Courtney Wade, 17s Red – Brooke Weatherhead and Miya Peterson. In the seniors the results continue to improve, however only C Grade managed to get the four points. The C Grade girls are currently sitting in fifth place on the ladder and have some tough matches coming up to determine whether they make an appearance in finals this season. Senior award winners last week were: D Grade BOC Lisa Dolan, Coaches Award Caitlin Gibson, MVP Lisa Dolan. C Grade BOC Imogen McGindle, Coaches Award Katey Leslie, MVP Jayne DaRose. B Grade BOC Jamieson Rendall, Coaches Award Mary McGindle, MVP Jamieson Rendall. A Grade BOC Shona Wells, Coaches Award Ebony Dolan, MVP Ebony Dolan. A huge shout out to the 17s girls who have been helping out the seniors by sitting on the bench in all grades. Your support is greatly appreciated!Socially the senior netballers got together for team dinners after our last home game which was a great night. A reminder to all senior players about our ‘Junior Round’, where all senior players will be coming together to watch and support our junior players. This will take place on Round 16 against Beaconsfield. Good luck to all teams today. Go Seagulls!

Netball Player Profile President’s ReportIt is always a pleasure to write a report after our club has had a

win, particularly when it is against an old rival like ROC.

When we played them earlier in the year it was a perfect day for footy but not such a perfect result for TDFC. However last Saturday was a terrible day for footy with most spectators staying in their cars for protection against the elements, but there was a fair chance that there was a few very low batteries in Seagull supporters cars as the boys gave them plenty of opportunities to sound their horns. In particular the second quarter when our team piled on 10 goals in what was our best display of team football for the year. Unfortunately I was not there to witness our teams display, but I followed every score via the SEFNL live score system and I can assure you there were a few people in the Hamilton Island Marina that thought I had issues when I was loudly celebrating every goal.Today will be a tough game when we come up against a Berwick team that are currently premiership favourites, but we have always played good footy against Berwick and found a way to win when no one gave us a hope of doing so, and I think that when we play our best footy there is no team that can stop us. The boys will also have a massive motivator in trying to send Matt Wade off for his last game with a win. There will be a lot written in this week’s Chatter about Matt so I will keep my comments short. Matt Wade, thanks for being an exceptional leader and inspiration for all who played beside you over the past 4 seasons at TDFC. Good luck with your police career and future playing career in Swan Hill, they won’t believe how lucky they are to obtain the services of one of the best players in the SEFNL. If you are transferred back down south we would love to have you back at TDFC.Tonight we have a function in the Sports Club with a DJ as a bit of a send-off for Matt Wade, we would love to see as many TDFC supporters and players stay around for what will be a great night, all welcome. Fly High you mighty Seagulls, Derek Genoni, President.

Some thoughts on Matt Wade from TDFC players and supporters past and present, as Matt plays his last game for TDFC this week before heading to Swan Hill for work

commitments and to continue his football career at Swan Hill FC. Good Luck Wadey, from all at TDFC, we have no doubt that your presence in the Central Murray Football League will result in premierships at Swan Hill FC, their gain is our loss, but you go with the best wishes of our football club.
